Creative Kids Centre

We’re at Creative Kids Centre today (23rd Aug, 12pm-2pm) with leaflets promoting our incredible Teens Wellbeing Event next week, funded by SNG - you’ll find us at Unit 4, Sovereign Centre answering questions and providing more information 🤩

Our Youth Committee programmed the Wellbeing Day as part of Increase The Peace - choosing everything from speakers to sensory activities & board games. A gentle day of relaxation for teens by teens ad with young people in charge.

Squidge and Pop are bringing mindfulness and sensory entertainment through bubbleology, and Patrick Neveling from Bournemouth University is chatting about building confidence and what’s next.

Yesterday we had a fab time at the beach!

We created sand castles, buried eachother collected shells and made landscape water colour paintings 🎨

Next beach day is next wednesday :))

Big thank you to the HAF team for thier support to enable us to take our kids on these supper fun trips 🥰

Beach day trip day—Wednesday 19th August

For our trip day, all children will need to be at the center at 10:30am.

All HAF children will have a packed lunch provided by us.

All full-day children will need to bring their own from home

It shouldn't be too hot but please pack your child with sunscreen, a hat, and a refillable water bottle.

Children will be allowed to paddle in the sea; they can wear their costumes under their clothes.

Please provide them a towel if they would like to paddle. There will be an adult in the water with them, and we will be stationed by the lifeguard hut.

Easily changeable shoes, clothes, and socks are advisable for any child wanting to swim.

If your child cannot swim or is not a strong swimmer, please let us know in the morning.

We will be back to the creative kids center at 3pm.

If you would like to collect from Boscombe Beach, please arrange this in the morning :)

Today we had the pleasure of having a sensory food workshop from The Friendly Food Club 🫐🫒🫑

Our kids loved playing with new fruits and vegetables, trying new things , exploring textures, tastes, smells and senses.
Huge thank you to the HAF team and The Friendly Food Club for delivering this amazing session to our children 🍏🍋‍🟩

Yesterday we had the pleasure of watching Treehouse Theatre perform Alice In Wonderland 🎭

They are such amazing performers, so inclusive, professional and warm. Credit to all their amazing actors our children absolutely loved it !!

We highly recommend them for any local school or provision looking for an inclusive, interactive and incredible pantomime :)

☀️ Change of plan for tomorrow! ☀️

With tomorrow set to be the peak of the heatwave, we've decided to skip the beach and bring the beach to us instead. We're having a Beach on the Roof Day!

The walk down and back up in that heat felt like a bit much for everyone, so we're setting up right here with plenty of shade and shelter, lots of cold drinks, water games, fun challenges, and a proper beach themed afternoon. Same sunshine, same fun, far more chances to flop in the shade with a cold drink. 🌊🏖️

Good news: there are still two more beach days in the schedule, so nobody's missing out.

Please do still send your children in beach clothing, along with a towel and a change of clothes in case they get wet and want to change. 👕🩴

Last week we tried out some group mural design challenges. 🎨Each team came up up with a theme of their own, and we worked together to design and create a large-scale mural.

We also worked on our confidence-building skills by creating confident me books 😄

Big thank you to LuxPlay for having us last week! Our kids had an amazing time at their soft play centre, and the team was so helpful. 😁Any family looking for a summer holiday activity Luxplay is local and great for kids of all ages! Shout out to their amazing team from us 👏👏
