BYFO meets in Boscombe. Violinists aged 5 to 19 perform folk ,film and classics. It is funded by Bournemouth Rotary, John Thornton Foundation and Soundstorm.

Well, its been a frantic exam year. 3 grade 7 with merit, 2 grade 8 with distinction and an ABRSM diploma, all under 18 years old, the youngest only 12 years old passing grade 8. Countless little one passing grades 1-5, of course and lots of proud parents. Those with grade 6 and above count their passes toward UCAS university points....

BYFO is performing on Sovereign Centre Bandstand this Saturday 230 till 430pm. We are collecting on behalf of the Dorset Childrens Foundation and the Thornton Young Achievers Foundation, who support our scholarship scheme. Please bring your friends and family and cheer us on while shopping.

Amy Dacrouri aged 8, passed grade 3 with merit. She practiced.
Adam Zhang won the grade 7 cup at the Bournemouth Music Competition (Bournemouth Performing Arts Festival). Our members came 2nd, 3rd and 4th. All are Thornton Scholars.
The orchestra won all the string ensemble prizes.
