*April BCP Local SEND Reform Workshops*

If you aren't yet aware, the government SEND white paper on ‘Every child achieving and thriving’ was published on 23rd February. The white paper set out the reforms to the schools and SEND systems in England, along with a public consultation.

BCP Council are required to respond to the proposals in the white paper in the form of a plan. The local SEND reforms in BCP can only succeed if they reflect the real experiences of families. There will an in person workshop and an virtual workshop both designed to bring parents and carers together to explore the changes being introduced, discuss what is working, and highlight what needs to improve. Your voice will directly influence the development and delivery of these reforms and go into a plan to be submitted by BCP Council to the DfE by 19th June.

📌Vouchers for school aged children are issued directly by the school.

Here's January's Top Tip from Come Talk With Me:

At our staff meeting this week, we spent time learning more sign-a-long signs as a group to support all children with their communication development. We have children with us this cohort who's communication is delayed for various reasons, and now of course we take much younger children as well, so all of our team use signs with all children as it benefits them all so much.

As well as learning to sign functional language to support independence, we have also learnt a few of the things that our current cohort like in particular, and we are also learning to sign our Favourite books too :) First up is Dear Zoo!
