If you are looking for tutoring for your child you have come to the right place. We currently offer tutoring in Maths, English and working towards the Grammar School Entrance Exams. Emotional health, well-being and resilience

Are you worried that your child is lacking confidence or seems to be anxious at school? Maybe our workshops, that aim to develop confidence and build resilience, could help? Emotional health and well-being are as important as academic progress; some children need additional support in this yet it is an area which is often overlooked. Our workshops are pioneering in this field and embedded in the work of Dr Carol Dweck and her work on growth mindset. Educational Assessments

Do you know how well your child is doing at school? Our assessments can establish your child's attainment in spelling, reading, comprehension and maths. Using the WRAT 4 cognitive assessment, we can assess your child's basic academic skills which are necessary for effective learning, communication and thinking with a psychometrically sound assessment. This week, we’re celebrating two brilliant young people who have shown exactly what our Go Fish values are all about. 💙

One has made an amazing start with us, giving 100%, showing incredible resilience and letting their creativity shine. 🎨✨

Our other Rising Star has achieved 100% attendance over the last three weeks, showing fantastic determination, adapting to changes and refusing to give up when things have felt challenging. 💪

We couldn’t be prouder of the progress they’re both making.

💙 MEET THE TEAM | JUDE

Say hello to Jude, one of our lovely teachers at Go Fish!

With (whisper it!) 29 years of teaching experience, Jude brings bags of experience, creativity and warmth to the team.

She loves English, French and finding creative ways to build learning around what genuinely interests each young person. For Jude, it all starts with building a positive, trusting relationship and making sure young people feel valued, respected and inspired.

✨ Creative. Fun. Empathetic.

And a brilliant Jude fact… she once spent two years in remote South West China as a volunteer teacher-trainer! 🌏

Go Fish Education is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Head of People & Operations to join our leadership team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the next stage of our development as a values-driven Alternative Provision, supporting young people who need education to look and feel a little different.

You’ll lead our People function, oversee key operational, HR and compliance systems, support recruitment and staff development, and work closely with our Directors to help shape a strong, consistent and high-quality service.

📍 Bournemouth | Hybrid working
⏰ Full-time | 37.5 hours per week
💷 £35,000–£45,000, depending on qualifications and experience
📅 Start date: 2 November 2026, or earlier if possible

💙 MEET THE TEAM | LAURA – TEACHER

Meet Laura, one of our experienced teachers at Go Fish Education.

Laura has been teaching for 19 years, working both in schools and as a tutor after completing her PGCE at Southampton University.

What Laura loves most about teaching is building relationships with young people and seeing their enthusiasm for learning return – particularly when education hasn’t always felt easy or positive for them.

For Laura, feeling safe comes first. She believes young people learn best when they know the person working with them genuinely cares, listens to them and values what they have to say.

📚 Laura particularly loves teaching maths and reading, but she’s equally happy getting creative with arts, crafts and cooking.

When asked what she loves about being part of Go Fish, Laura said:

“The creative, child-centred approach we get to take to learning. It’s a teacher’s dream to plan and teach such a personalised curriculum. The amazing team at Go Fish makes it a very special community too.”

✨ Three words that describe Laura’s approach:

Outside of work, Laura enjoys swimming, baking, reading and spending time with her children.

A lovely afternoon of professional development with the Go Fish Education team 🎣💙

Today’s CPD focused on diagnostic testing and planning effectively towards EHCP outcomes — making sure that the work we do is purposeful, measurable and genuinely linked to each young person’s individual needs and goals. ✅

Great to have our team together, sharing ideas, developing practice and keeping our young people at the heart of everything we do.

Always learning. Always reflecting. Always improving. 💙

💙 Two weeks back… and so much to celebrate.

Sometimes progress in education isn’t measured by a test score.

It can be a young person getting up and being ready for their session.

Walking through the door when anxiety makes that incredibly difficult.

Beginning to trust a new teacher or mentor.

Saying they enjoy coming to Go Fish.

Talking about qualifications again.

Agreeing to increase their hours.

Or a parent telling us that, for the first time in a long time, things are beginning to feel positive.

Over the past two weeks, we’ve seen all of these.

For many of the young people we support, education hasn’t been easy. That’s why the small steps matter — because very often they become the big ones.

A huge thank you to our teachers, mentors and leadership team for the patience, consistency and belief they bring every day.

And most importantly, well done to our young people. 💛

📚 Keeping current. Keeping curious. Keeping learning.

Working in alternative provision means there is always more to learn. The young people we support have diverse and often complex needs, and our practice needs to keep developing alongside our understanding.

We’re continuing to build our Go Fish CPD and resource library, with books covering autism, PDA, trauma, sensory processing, emotional regulation and behaviour.

The aim is simple: to make sure our team is well read, informed and current in the approaches we use — and that we keep questioning, reflecting and learning rather than assuming we already have all the answers.

And these resources aren’t just for our staff.

💙 We’re really happy to share our CPD resources with the families and professionals we work alongside too. If there’s a book in our library that might help you better understand or support a young person, please just ask — you’re very welcome to borrow it. 📚

Because the more we learn, understand and share knowledge, the better we can work together to support our young people.

Now we just need to decide who gets first pick… 😂🐟
