The Bourne Academy

On Wednesday, some of our Year 10 students attended the Shake Up Shakespeare event at Southampton University. They explored Shakespeare’s works and took part in an engaging analysis of Othello.

The afternoon included a session with a director and professional actors, who demonstrated how different interpretations can bring Shakespeare’s characters to life on stage.

Our Year 9 Boys Impact students had a fantastic day at the SUN Empower Conference at Bournemouth University.

They heard from World Champion boxer Chris Billam-Smith about challenging stereotypes and the importance of expressing emotions, before taking part in communication workshops led by the Speakers Trust.

The boys were a credit to The Bourne Academy throughout the day. Thank you to Peter Thompson and the Southern Universities Network for the invitation.

Our Year 7 and 8 students performed at our annual MiSST Proms tonight. Congratulations to everyone involved, it was fantastic to see how much progress has been made over the course of the year.
