Doodle Bird Childcare

And with a blink of an eye, off they went back to school ...... The Doodle Birds and I have had a non-stop summer with trips to the New Forest, beach, park, mini golf, skate park, alpine park and cinema (just to name a few). Now it's time to get back into the routine as they all start their new classes at school.

The first week of the summer holidays done and what a fabulous week it has been!! Sunshine, park, beach and loads of water fun for the Doodle Birds 🌞🌳🏖️💦 @ Doodle Bird Childcare

It wasn't just one birthday in the Doodle Bird House this morning, but two!!
As you know, birthdays mean the Doodle Birds get to eat a treat on the way to school to celebrate with the birthday boy / girl. We did end up having lots of discussions on the way to school which also involved me being asked to check the calendar to see which Doodle Birds will be with me on their birthdays so they get to celebrate in the same way 😂❤️

WE ARE RECRUITING!

I am pleased to announce that due to increased numbers, Doodle Bird Childcare is looking for someone to join us as a Childcare Assistant.

Hours of work are 3:15pm til 5:15pm Monday to Friday until 17 July 2019, (Monday to Thursday 3:15pm to 5:15pm from September 2019) term time only. Additional hours and school holiday days may be needed however these will be paid as overtime.

Ideally the candidate will have experience with children and be first aid trained. However more importantly, they must be super friendly, have a warm personality and enjoy doing crafts, playing children's games and having fun!

Please note, a DBS check will be carried out on shortlisted candidates before final offer is made.

When someone says "park" after school ..... 😂🤦🏽‍♀️

Our plans changed this morning due to the weather so we spent this morning doing crafts at home. After lunch, we took our scooters down to Tuckton Tea Gardens and the Doodle Birds played crazy golf ⛳

We've had our first BEACH DAY of Spring 2019!! We packed our bags bright and early and scooted / cycled via the skate park to the beach.
The kids loved the freedom and quiet beach where they could play bat & ball, boomerang and football. Plenty of time for "Sand Champs", "Tunnelopium" and burying each other.

Today the Doodle Birds and I headed out to enjoy the sunshine at Avon Heath Country Park. We took part in their Easter Trail, explored bogs (🤦🏽‍♀️) and enjoyed a picnic after which the kiddies enjoyed the revamped park area. We also bumped into some school friends which was an added bonus.
When we came back, it was water fun in the garden however some of the Doodle Birds thought it would be a good idea to clean my windows using their t shirts and their hair!! 🤔😂

First day of the Easter Holidays and what an absolute beaut!! Off we scooted to Littledown to play at the park which later turned into a 'fishing' adventure. Then off home for a picnic in the garden, some den building, chalk drawing on the patio and then topped off with a game of cricket 👌😎☀️🏏

Warm and sunny afternoons like this mean and obligatory park stop on the way home ☀️

Two weeks ago, some of the older Doodle Birds came out of school asking if they could sell some crafts outside my house after school. As you can imagine, I was a little dubious and asked a few questions but they had all the right answers and explained they wanted to raise money for their school library.
So (with parents permission) for four afternoons, they set up their little stall next to the doctor's surgery and sold homemade paper cups and some second hand books. Not only did they enjoy it but they also raised enough money to buy three collections of books they're all fond of.
I'm sure they'll take great pleasure in passing these books over to their Headmaster tomorrow morning 😃📚

Doodle Bird will be offering holiday club during the Easter break. Open between 8am and 6pm and all sorts of adventures await.
