🌊💦 Splashing into Summer Fun! 💦🌊
The Turtles and Dolphins have been busy exploring our brand-new Cascade Water Tray!
Using our hands, buckets, watering cans, paint brushes and a variety of containers, we investigated how water moves and discovered different ways to carry, pour and transport it. The children loved watching the water flow through the channels and experimenting with filling and emptying the trays.
Not only was it a fantastic sensory experience, but it also helped us develop our communication, problem-solving and fine motor skills while working together and sharing resources.
☀️ With the warm weather, the water play helps us keep cool while having lots of fun outdoors!

🌿 Planting Our Leftover Herbs 🌿
Following on from our herb-themed activities, the children enjoyed giving some of our leftover herbs a new home in the garden today.
They carefully and gently placed the herbs into the soil, taking great care as they planted each one. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and teamwork as they learned about how plants grow and the importance of looking after them.
We can’t wait to watch our herbs flourish over the coming weeks! 🌱💚

Last week, during a morning in the garden, we spotted some tiny caterpillars munching on a leaf on one of our trees.
The children were fascinated as they watched them eating, and we talked about what the caterpillars might turn into as they grow. Excitedly, all the children answered at once, “Butterflies!” 🦋
It was a lovely opportunity to encourage curiosity about nature and re-cap our learning about the life cycle of a butterfly. 🐛🌿🦋

They enjoyed choosing which toppings to add to their pizza bases and cheese, exploring different ingredients and creating their own delicious designs.
It was a wonderful activity that encouraged decision-making, creativity, and fine motor skills, and the children were very proud of their finished pizzas!

As we head into June, here’s this month’s top tip: praise your child's attempts to say new words. Repeat words back to them in the correct way, without mentioning mistakes - this will help them to learn the right way to say a new word.
Don’t forget - you can access all Come Talk with Me resources, including top tip posters and screen break activities, on the Family Information Directory.
