This academic scientist was already an engaging and thoughtful communicator. But tension, breath-holding and self-doubt could make it harder to communicate her complex ideas with confidence—particularly in high-pressure professional settings.
Together, we worked on releasing physical tension, using breath and voice more efficiently, and managing the inner critic.
The aim was never to make her sound like a generic “confident speaker”. It was to help her communicate with greater ease, impact and authority—while still sounding entirely like herself. ❤️

A pause can be one of the most powerful parts of the message.
It gives you time to breathe.
It gives the listener time to feel and process.
And it helps your words land with impact.

When this experienced singer and singing teacher first came to me, she was no longer singing or teaching. Her voice felt unreliable, her middle range had become insecure, and she had lost confidence in something that had always been a central part of her life.
Over six months of carefully paced voice rehabilitation, she gradually rebuilt her speaking and singing voice — and, most importantly, began to trust it again.
She is now singing, performing and teaching regularly. ❤️

Not every moment needs correcting.
Sometimes, the most powerful thing a voice coach can do is step back and give the singer space to sing or the speaker space to speak.
Technique matters. Knowledge matters. But so does timing, trust and permission.
A singer or speaker doesn’t always need to be interrupted to prove we know the answer.
Sometimes they need space to find their own.

Some children need a highly individualised approach to voice, sound, speech and communication.
This specialist support is for children and young people who are deaf, have multi-sensory impairment, developmental differences, complex communication needs or other additional communication challenges.
The work is practical, creative and always adapted to the child in front of me.

Or 70s. Or 60s.
If you know, you know, and you were probably born in the 80s
