As the school year moves towards its last few weeks, we’d like to thank all the young people, teachers, schools and musicians who continue to make our work such fun. Given the feedback we’ve been receiving, it seems like they have enjoyed it too!

10.15am Registration (for whole day – masterclass and orchestral sessions and concert)
10.30am Welcome and presentation on studying at a Conservatoire from Nic Pendlebury (Head of Strings, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance)
11.00am Masterclass session with specialist string tutors from Trinity Laban
12.00pm LUNCH
12.45pm – 1.45pm Masterclass session with specialist string tutors from Trinity Laban
1.30pm Registration (for afternoon orchestral sessions and concert only)
2pm String Orchestra coaching (sectionals)

Our friends from Sandy Hill Arts, Corfe Castle, are putting on a brilliant, Arts Council funded FREE workshop for young musicians aged 15-25 led by the wonderful Soothsayers (also friends of SoundStorm) and their youth education project, Youthsayers, on Saturday 27 June 2026 (11am-3.30pm). Participants will also play a brief set in the evening concert with the band, which should be an amazing experience!

Attendees will learn about groove, use of melody and improvisation using afrobeat, reggae and jazz as a basis for group playing, as well as utilising basic musicianship techniques to create effective performances. Ideally participants should be grade 3 standard or equivalent, or above.
