💙 Happy Father's Day! 💙
A big thank you to all the fathers who attended our Father's Day event. We hope you enjoyed the delicious treats that the children lovingly created for you.
The children have been hard at work preparing for the celebration, making Father's Day cards and pictures. They have been so excited about the event that we even created a countdown, which the children have enjoyed ticking off each day in anticipation.
Thank you for joining us and helping to make the day so special. We wish all of our wonderful fathers and father figures a very happy and relaxing Father's Day on Sunday!

Giant dinosaurs took over our garden today! 🦖🦕
The children were thrilled to discover the enormous visitors and quickly got to work caring for them. They made food for the hungry dinosaurs and helped keep their teeth sparkling clean by giving them a good brush!
It was wonderful to see the children's imagination, creativity, and nurturing skills in action as they looked after their prehistoric friends. ✨

World Cup ⚽
The children have been very excited about the start of the World Cup, so we decided to have a penalty shoot-out in the garden! ⚽
All of the children who wanted to take part were able to tell me the first letter of their name so I could write it on the scoreboard. Each child had three chances to score a goal. Everyone did a fantastic job kicking the ball, although we did have a few handballs along the way!
The child who scored the most goals was very proud of their achievements, and we all applauded their efforts. The children then started wondering what they might get as a prize, so we decided to make our own medals.
The children showed great fine motor skills as they carefully cut out circles, used the hole punch, and threaded string through their medals. They were very proud of their creations and enjoyed celebrating their achievements together. 🏅

Pizza Making Fun ✨🍕
The children decided they wanted to make their very own pizzas, so some of the children took a trip to Tesco to buy all of the ingredients they needed.
Once they returned, the children enjoyed preparing and creating their own delicious pizzas, choosing their toppings and helping with every step of the process.
After all of their hard work, the children sat together and enjoyed their homemade pizzas for tea, they were absolutely delicious!

Trip to Build-A-Bear ✨🧸
Some of our Woodlanders took a special trip to Bournemouth by bus to create two very special bears for the new children who will soon be joining us at our new preschool, Tiny Seeds Preschool in September.
The children each had the chance to place a heart inside the bears and watch as they were sewn together. They also created birth certificates for the bears and were very excited to receive stickers too!
While exploring Bournemouth, we were lucky enough to meet two lovely police officers who kindly gave the children even more stickers and even let them try on their police hats. The officers were very impressed with our bears!
Whilst in Bournemouth, the children also had one last important job to do. The children back at nursery had requested homemade pizzas for tea, so our Woodlanders headed to Tesco to buy all the ingredients they needed to make them.

Tyre Wash Station 🧽
In preparation for the opening of our new preschool in September, Tiny Seeds Preschool we were very lucky to receive some go-kart tyres from South Coast Karting 🏎️✨
Our children absolutely love playing with our go-kart tyres, so we knew these would make a fantastic addition to our new setting. The children have been busy working together to clean them in our tyre wash station, getting them ready to head over to the preschool. 🛞
A huge thank you to South Coast Karting for your generosity, we can’t wait to see the children enjoying them in their new environment! 💚

Happy 100th Birthday to Sir David Attenborough! 🦁🌍
Today we celebrated this very special occasion with a fun-filled day alongside the children, recognising the many years of dedication David has shown to animals and the natural world.
In the garden, we set up “jeeps” for the children to drive as they used their binoculars to spot animals hidden around the garden. We also created a jungle hideout where the children could relax and explore animal books together. 🐘📚
At circle time, we explored the number 100, looking at different ways to make 100 and visually showing the children what the number looks like with objects. We also talked about how old the children are and compared how many birthdays they have celebrated to David’s 100 birthdays, helping the children understand the concept in a meaningful and engaging way.
The children enjoyed lots of small world invitations to play, discovering different animals and habitats, and got wonderfully creative making Andy Warhol-inspired portraits of David alongside paintings of their favourite animals. 🎨🐒
To end our day of celebrations, the children baked cupcakes and enjoyed a lovely al fresco tea party under bunting decorated with their beautiful artwork from the day.
What a fantastic way to celebrate such an inspiring man and his incredible work protecting and educating us about the world around us.

Chick Pictures 🐣
With our chicks now emerging from their eggs, the children were full of excitement and eager to get creative.
They explored a variety of materials to create their own chick pictures, producing some truly wonderful and unique works of art.
At Woodland, we focus on the process rather than the finished product, encouraging children to experiment with different techniques, express their own ideas, and enjoy the freedom of creativity.

Tyre Play in the Garden 🛞
The children have been making the most of our large tyres this week, transporting them around the garden and building their gross motor skills as they push, roll, and manoeuvre them.
Some children challenged themselves by pushing the tyres up ramps, while others explored different ways to climb through and around them. It’s been fantastic to see their problem-solving skills, coordination, and determination in action!
