It might be tempting to buy electrical items from cheap online market places, however, the electrical products sold on these sites do not always conform to British or European safety standards.

They are often made with poor quality components that fail to meet UK safety regulations. This means they can cause injury, electric shocks and even fires.

When buying electrical items online:
- Purchase from trusted retailers
- Make sure the product has a British or European safety mark.
- Only use the correct charger for your item in line with the manufacturer’s guidance.
