We have friendly and welcoming staff with high levels of knowledge and education to provide care for children aged 2 years to preschool.

We've had lots of fun at Pre-School this term! 😊

The benefits of children having the opportunity to use scissors is enormous. Not only does cutting practice support children's physical development (fine motor skills) through manipulating and handling the scissors, cutting practice also supports children's bilateral coordination (two handed coordination).
When your child is using scissors, they are working all the muscles in their hand which continues to support future writing skills.
Giving them opened ended activities (paper that doesn't have an objective such as cutting lines etc) will prove better for your child's self confidence as they can practice and develop their cutting technique at their own pace.
At preschool we encourage children to use scissors safely and responsibly. We have a wonderful junk modelling area where children can spend their time creating their own designs at their own speed and pace. We find it to be a very popular area. We love seeing all the rockets, cars and castles to name a few that have been created.

At home almost any sort of recycling can become something exciting. A washing up bottle could become a rocket, a milk carton could become a house. A little imagination can go anywhere.....

Oh the joys of a mud kitchen. It is open ended and meets the individual needs of the children. We could talk forever about the benefits of mud play as it is such a diverse resource. Every area of learning can be developed in a mud kitchen. From weighing, measuring and pouring to learning about the properties of the soil that grows our food, the opportunities for learning are endless.
If you would like a mud kitchen area at home, a few bowls, spoons and old kitchen equipment with mud will be just fine. Your child’s imagination will decide the rest. 😊

We are looking forward to September when we can play with the preschool mud kitchen again.
