PACTS -Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport

A body set up post Brexit to help to unravel laws that we may no longer need, is employed looking into 700 which involve roads & road transport legislation.

One item under investigation by PACTS includes the effectiveness of 20 mph speed limits which were first introduced in small areas in the 1990’s.

Under their consideration is data from the project LUSTRE -Lower Urban Speed Limits in Europe, a multi-centred report which is supported by a £60k grant from the Road Safety Trust.

The full report together with those conclusions that can be made is available from www.pacts.org.uk/lustre or read more on our website
