I don’t coach because I have all the answers.
I coach because I believe in what’s possible for people.
I coach because I’ve seen what happens when someone finally believes in themselves.
I coach because growth isn’t just about results, it’s about becoming.

So, following on from yesterday’s post where I highlighted some of the saves I made as I’m back playing in goal… Life isn’t all positives.
I also conceded three, so here are the videos.
Now, as a goalkeeper and a coach, we truly believe we can save everything. Looking back at these, I honestly think I should have done better on all three. So let me talk you through them:
**Goal 1:**
I should have jumped. Simple as that. If I commit, jump and dive, I probably pull off a great, camera worthy save. Instead, I hesitated, bottled it, didn’t go, and the ball ends up in the net.
**Goal 2:**
This one’s a stinker from me. Cross comes in, and I’m anticipating a touch from the striker, but it never comes. Before I can react, it’s already in the back of the goal and I’m left looking silly.
Rule number one: never anticipate the flick, make your move and deal with what’s actually happening.
**Goal 3:**
I’ll be honest, this is a tough one. The delivery is excellent, too high for me to come and claim, the struggles of being five foot nothing. The header at the back post is quality. I did have someone on the post, so maybe there’s a polite conversation to be had there.
But realistically, I still take responsibility, I should have shifted across quicker and at least made an attempt. Maybe a bit of fatigue creeping in late in the game.
Plenty of positives overall, but always things to improve.
Those are my thoughts, what do you think? Let me know below 👇
Can someone tell me the rules please? 🤷🏽♂️

Proof I did make a save 😂🧤
Longest match I’ve managed since the shoulder op… 70 mins in and straight back into it after Becca B Baker sadly got injured. Standard keeper life .. football’s taken more fingers off us keepers than knives at this point 🤦♂️
Also just realised… my last full 90 was in 2024 😳 that’s actually scary to write. But a lot going on behind the scenes to get back right … physically and mentally.
Big thank you to Stars United Events for having me 🙌🏽 proper good group of people already, looking forward to the next one and a few more trips 👊🏽 🫶🏽

Banning social media for children under 16 is a great decision 👍🏽
About time they were back on park benches smoking Marlboro Reds and playing Edward Ciderhands 🤷🏽♂️
