Today our nursery children enjoyed a nature walk 🌿🌼, exploring the outdoor environment and collecting flowers along the way.

Back at nursery, they used their findings to create beautiful flower art 🌸, supporting their creativity, fine motor skills, and understanding of the natural world.

A lovely day of hands-on learning and exploration!

Today at Iford Bridge Nursery and Preschool we are proudly celebrating World Down Syndrome Day 💛

The children have had a wonderful time getting involved in meaningful and fun activities to help raise awareness and celebrate individuality. We all wore our brightest odd socks to show that differences should be celebrated, not hidden!

Together, we shared the story “Abilities in Me”, sparking lovely conversations about kindness, inclusion, and how everyone has their own unique strengths.

The children also enjoyed creative craft activities, designing their own colourful odd socks and creating self-portraits to express what makes them special.

It’s been a joyful day full of learning, creativity, and celebrating what makes each of us unique 🌈

Our children have had so much fun celebrating St Patrick’s Day over the past few days! ☘️

They’ve been busy practising their fine motor skills with sparkly green playdough and getting creative decorating shamrocks (four-leaf clovers). It’s been wonderful to see their imagination and concentration shine through in all their lovely creations 💚

🏗️ Today was all about building and experimenting at our preschool! Our toddlers and preschoolers absolutely loved exploring construction. They used a variety of objects and tried out different heights to see how tall they could make their towers and buildings. 🌟

Today our pre-schoolers enjoyed a fun baking activity together! 🧁 They identified all the ingredients in the bowls and were amazed at how much sugar and butter goes into making cupcakes. The children took turns pouring in the ingredients and mixing everything together.

As we baked, we talked about the different textures, smells, and colours of each ingredient. We also explored different ways of stirring, including folding in the flour. Great teamwork and fantastic participation from everyone — well done preschoolers! 😊

Happy Word Book Day from Iford Bridge Nursery and Preschool 📚📖

The children have been thoroughly enjoying practising their balancing skills in the sunshine this week. ☀️ Using a variety of different apparatus, they have been building their confidence, coordination and control.

It has been wonderful to see their determination and resilience as they persevere, even when they wobble or fall. Each time, they pick themselves up, try again, and show fantastic determination. We are so proud of their positive attitudes and growing confidence!

Lately, our children have absolutely loved playing “doctors” 🩺

They’ve been carefully checking heartbeats, wrapping up pretend injuries, and making sure everyone is feeling okay. It’s been so lovely to watch them take on these caring roles — especially how gently they look after each other and their baby dolls. 👩‍🔬

We’re so excited to share a little glimpse of the progress happening in our Baby Room at Iford Bridge Nursery and Preschool!
So much care and thought has gone into creating a warm, nurturing space where our little ones can feel safe, settled and ready to explore.
From March 2026, we will be welcoming children aged 1 year and above. Spaces will be limited, so we recommend getting in touch early to secure your place.
We can’t wait to show you more as everything continues to come together — follow along for further updates!

Our preschoolers and toddlers have been thoroughly enjoying their time exploring the natural world around our nursery. We went on a little adventure to search for leaves and sticks in our outdoor environment, chatted about what we found, and even spotted cars and buses passing by. After all that exploring, we settled down together for a lovely, well-earned snack. 🌿🍂
