You know the French… but somehow, you just can’t get the words out?
You’ve been learning French. You understand more and more, but when it comes to actually speaking, something holds you back.
And sometimes, it’s not your French.
It’s fear.
Fear of:
• Being laughed at
• Making a mistake
• Not being understood
• Getting the words in the wrong order
• Being judged
And they’re all just fears.
FEAR — False Evidence Appearing Real.
They exist in your head.
And like so many things in life, making the jump is the hardest part.
How often have you worried about something, finally done it, and thought:
“Oh… that wasn’t so bad!”
I know this because I’ve been there.
When I met the French man who would become the father of my children, I could already speak French quite well.
He spoke English well too. We met while he was studying in the UK, so naturally, we just carried on speaking English.
For three years.
Then one day he said:
“If you speak another word of English, I’m not going to understand you. You have to speak French.”
GULP.
I was terrified.
Every single one of those fears above was there.
But I took the leap.
He encouraged me. I made mistakes. I kept going.
And it worked.
I became fluent in French.
That’s why, at Lavender Path Languages, I create a space where you can dare to speak, make mistakes, try, laugh, and build your confidence.
Because I’ve been there.
I took the leap — and I lived to tell the tale!
So… what are you waiting for?
