A basic introduction to stained glass.

Students will firstly design their own pattern and choose their colours. They will then learn how to cut the glass and assemble it into the lead frame and then solder the joints.

The finished piece can be hung in a window or in the garden as a lovely windspinner.

Two places have become available on a Copper foil stained glass workshop on Wednesday 10th April
£45 per person 10am-2pm (not suitable for anyone pregnant or breastfeeding)
An introduction to the Tiffany Copper Foil method of making stained glass. Students will learn how to cut glass, attach the foil and solder pieces together to make a choice of suncatchers.

WIP after several layers of paint and 6 firings i'm happy with the owl, just a few tweaks with the fields and then i can lead him up. Ive learnt so much doing this panel and used silver stain for the first time to get the golden tone to his feathers.

'Visitor at tea time'

Work in progress, first two layers of paint. Several more to go. Im painting (badly) two owls, different glass and styles to see which i like best. Going to try Silver stain to get his golden highlights, its all a journey!

More crafternooning.

Had this little painted blackbird (done as a practice bit) that i wanted to fit into a panel and practice more glass painting.

So much to learn with traditional glass painting but happier with the ivy than i first thought. Some areas too light. Some frying of paint. Dodgy composition but i can try harder next time.
