🥵 IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL - THERE WILL BE NO MEETING TONIGHT 🥵

Due to this extreme heat, the committee have taken the decision to cancel tonight’s meeting.

Next meeting will be Thursday 10th September when we have a Police Fraud Prevention Officer coming to advise us on how to keep safe.
Hope it’s a cooler evening and we look forward to seeing you then

We are very proud of our allotment and would like to show off, just a little bit ☺️

Almost everything we planted this year is doing well.
We have Courgettes, Squash ( mostly leaves atm) Runner Beans, Sweetcorn,Tomatoes, Cucumber & Peppers (on their way) Potatoes and of course Rhubarb which will be coming with us to our August meeting.
It’s been hard with the watering in this hot weather so a rota was set up.
Not bad for a small group of us who didn’t know what we were doing when we started.
Trial & Error & learn as we go 😀

Are you interested/spooked/bewildered or just plain scared of anything Paranormal?
Well Great!
You need to join us tomorrow evening 11th June at 7.30pm as we have the very knowledgeable Diana Mary Rose to enlighten us.
Diana has written 3 books on the subject and has many personal experiences to share with us.

9 of us headed to Burghley House to park up in their very well organised and FREE 😧 car park and enjoy our walk for June.
Many thanks to Tina and Janet for planning this gorgeous walk and Janet for this write up.

Our walk began in Burghley House strolling through the grounds passing sheep and deer and exiting at the Gate House. We headed towards Stamford Meadows and walked to the weir then following the footpath through the allotments and dropping back into Stamford town centre. Stopping for a coffee and cake proved a good idea and we missed the rain. A pleasant walk taking in beautiful parts of Stamford.

Our WI Pub Grub Group visited The Bull Inn Rippingale on 21st May and had a thoroughly enjoyable meal.

The menu offered an excellent variety, from hearty pies and liver & bacon to perfectly cooked rump steak. Every dish was beautifully presented, full of flavour, and clearly prepared with care.

Dessert was equally impressive, with the lemon meringue proving to be a definite favourite among the group.

The staff were welcoming, attentive, and provided brilliant service throughout the evening, helping to make the visit even more enjoyable.

We would definitely recommend a visit to anyone looking for good food, friendly service, and a lovely dining experience.

So sadly it seems we were a bit early planting out our beans and courgettes. Lost quite a few of them in the frost a few days after we’d planted them 🙁
We are all amateurs and learning as we go.
Got our tomato plants in this morning and replaced a few of the beans ( thanks to Lorna for the beans)
Thanks also to Catherine for the Horse Radish.
So it’s now just a case of keeping everything alive in this heat 🤞
