Students and staff at Bourne Academy are celebrating yet another fantastic year of academic and vocational success with highly impressive results across the diverse curriculum of 23 different GCSE and BTEC subjects.

In addition to English and Mathematics, the top four subjects where students have achieved grades 7 to 9 (or equivalent) are Biology, Health & Social Care, Performing Arts and Sports Science. There has also been a notable increase in grades 9 to 5 in French and Psychology.

Mrs Jemma Curson, Chief Executive Officer at South Lincolnshire Academies Trust said “The fantastic results across all four schools in our Trust demonstrate the incredible hard work of our students and staff, and reflects the students hard work and commitment to their studies. Bourne Academy along with Spalding Academy and Giles Academy have consistently demonstrated impressive results, and we are delighted that Cowley Academy are now emulating the academic success and progress of our other schools since joining the Trust in September 2022.”

“As a Trust with non-selective schools, I am immensely proud of the achievements of every single student who have grown into amazing young people with bright futures. We are delighted so many students have achieved what they require to progress to the next stage of their education and will make a positive difference within their community.”

Students at the SLAT Sixth Form at Bourne Academy have been celebrating their achievements with another outstanding set of exam results with 49% of A-level and BTEC qualifications being the equivalent of grades A* to A and a 99% pass rate across all exams.

A record number of students sat exams in 2026 as the Sixth Form has grown year-on-year as it attracts top achieving students from secondary schools across the region.

The SLAT Sixth Form at Bourne Academy offers three different study pathways where students can study A-levels only, BTECs only or ‘mix and match’ with a combination of both. This wide range of subjects gives them the best chance of securing university places with 99% of students achieving the results required for their chosen university.

The top grades for A-level subjects are once again consistently high at the Sixth Form, with 40% of all A-level results were grades A* to B. There were notable successes for specific A-level subjects with 80% of French students achieving A* to B and 56% of English Language students achieving A* to B.

For the vocational qualifications, an outstanding 72% of BTEC grades achieved were Distinction* to Distinction (equivalent to A* or A grade at A-level) with 98% of all BTEC grades achieved were Distinction* to Merit (equivalent to A* or C grade at A-level). Students studying Health & Social Care were celebrating where 89% achieved Distinction* to Distinction (equivalent to A* or A grade at A-level), plus 86% of Travel & Tourism students and 83% of Performing Arts students achieved Distinction* to Distinction.

Mrs Jemma Curson, Chief Executive Officer at South Lincolnshire Academies Trust said “We are immensely proud to have been able to celebrate another outstanding set of A-level and BTEC grades. To consistently achieve top results as our Sixth Form grows significantly is just incredible. It has been wonderful to see the successes of our students today as their hard work and dedication in Sixth Form has been rewarded. I would like to thank the Sixth Form team and teaching staff for all of their advice, guidance and outstanding teaching that students have received throughout their Sixth Form journey."

After all of their hard work and dedication for the last two years, our Sixth Formers celebrated the end of their exams together at the Sixth Form Prom, which was held at the prestigious The Bull Hotel in Peterborough.

This historic and luxurious venue dates back to the seventeenth century and gave our students the perfect send off before they embark on their next steps at university or into employment. It is an exciting time for our Sixth Formers as they will be embarking on the next step of their careers.

The evening included a sit down three course meal, entertainment, photo booth and most importantly a relaxed environment so our students can be together as a large group for one last time as they have made close friendships during their time at Sixth Form.

All of the staff at Bourne Academy and South Lincolnshire Academies Trust wish every one of our students all the best for the future and we know they will be successful in whatever they choose to do.

The Year 11 Celebration Prom is a memorable event where our students can celebrate together for one last time before they depart for sixth form or college.

We made sure that our students have the perfect finale after all of their hard work over the last five years by holding the Prom at the Springfield Events & Conference Centre in Spalding.

As is customary at the prom, the students put a lot of effort and thought into what to wear and they arrived in a variety of vehicles including luxury and vintage cars, limousines, bikes, trucks and even an ambulance car! Family and friends were able to see students grace the red carpet before celebrating with fellow students and staff.

Students were able to dance the night away at the venue, which was hired out exclusively by Bourne Academy so they could celebrate together in a safe and relaxed environment. At the prom, they also enjoyed a generous buffet, awards ceremony and photo booth as well as a disco.

All of the staff at Bourne Academy and South Lincolnshire Academies Trust wish all of the students every success in the future and we know they will look back at this milestone event with fond memories.

Due to the forecasted extreme weather conditions this week, the Year 6 Transition Day, which was due to take place on Friday 26th June 2026 will now take place on Friday 3rd July 2026.

Friday is expected to be the hottest day of the week, and with a significant number of additional Year 6 students due to join us on site, we feel it would not be appropriate to increase numbers under these conditions.

The Year 6 Transition Day on Friday 3rd July, will run exactly as originally planned, ensuring students receive the full intended experience.

Year 6 parents/carers and their primary schools have been communicated with already.

Bourne Academy will remain open as normal for our current students, with established measures in place to manage the conditions safely.
