Such a fun World Book Day. We loved it 🥰

Thanks so much to everyone who came and joined us for our Super Write Sparks World Book Day event. We’re pretty certain we had over 7,200 students taking part in workshops across Key Stages 1–4.

I loved performing some new work, answering questions, and seeing the rhymes and ideas students came up with — so many funny and clever pieces of writing, far more than I could share. We had a backlog of over 100 pieces and questions in the chat within 15 minutes of each session starting.

Aside from having to expand our Zoom membership to fit all the classes for the Key Stage 2 sessions (we had so many that I couldn’t actually get into the room to deliver at first!), I think we somehow managed to get through the whole day without any real technical problems, which honestly feels a bit miraculous.

Al and Louise did such a brilliant job managing the chat and keeping the structure of everything running smoothly. It was also really cool that Louise delivered part of our Key Stage 4 session, bringing in her experience as an examiner when talking to the GCSE students.

Did you join us for the day? If so, I hope you (and your students) had as much fun as we did.

Here’s a picture of me after all six sessions — pretty fried but very happy, and feeling inspired by the students we got to work with.

That’s a lot of text overlays… and at points the whole thing felt like making a live TV show — just one where the viewers send you messages and snippets of poems and raps that make you laugh out loud.

Designing llamas (mine was named Lillibeth by one class) was a real highlight too. ❤️🦙✍️🗣️💥

✨ Our Home Education Sessions Have Been a Real Success! ✨

We’ve had a fantastic start to our Home Education sessions at Lilac Education and have been so impressed by the creativity, confidence and enthusiasm we’ve seen already. We’d love to welcome more home-educated children to join us.

In English, we have created poems and pieces of creative writing with real depth and originality we’ve been genuinely amazed by the quality of the work and the confidence in sharing ideas.

In Drama, sessions have been full of laughter through improvisation, alongside brilliant growth in confidence. We’ve also been developing acting skills, exploring objectives, character purpose and intention.

Our 90-minute RPG (Role Playing Game) session has seen the children working as a team, using their wits to survive challenges in a summer camp they’ll definitely never forget 🎲🔥

Sessions are creative, supportive and led by experienced, qualified teachers.
We’re now growing the groups, so new families are very welcome.

What a way to start 2026!

One of the things we offer at Lilac Education is GCSE English resit support. Between September and November, I worked with three students on this programme, and their results came in today:

Two students moved from a Grade 3 to a Grade 5
One student jumped from a Grade 4 to a Grade 7

I’m so proud of them. These results are a much more accurate reflection of their true abilities and I’m genuinely buzzing that I could help them get there. Hard work, resilience, and belief paid off. 🤩🤩🤩
