It was wonderful to see our children taking part in our Sports Days recently with such enthusiasm, determination and excellent sportsmanship. Every child gave their very
best, demonstrating resilience, teamwork and a positive attitude throughout the two mornings. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them.
Thank you to our parents and families for coming along to cheer on the children. Your encouragement and support helped to make the events such special occasions and we are
grateful for the wonderful atmosphere you created.
Finally, congratulations to the Green Fields and Fens team for their outstanding performance in this year’s competition and for winning the overall Sports Day Cup! A well-deserved
achievement for everyone involved. 🏆

Year 6 - Gala Dinner
We had the pleasure of welcoming back Darren Tinkler, of Roots to Food, for our annual Year 6 Gala dinner this week. The children worked tirelessly throughout the day prepping the three-course meal, preparing menus and laying the banquet table.
In the evening, the children served over 50 parents and staff, who had a wonderful time enjoying the children's culinary delights which consisted of leek and potato soup, chicken with a tomato and basil sauce and Eton mess. Well done to all of the children who were exceptionally hardworking on the day.

Year 6 -Bourne Grammar School Visit
Last week, we were visited by members of staff from the Design Technology department at Bourne Grammar School. Teachers from Thurlby and BGS had worked closely together in planning a collaborative DT project.
The children had previously designed their torches on a CAD system called Inkscape, which were then laser cut at BGS. The staff from BGS then provided the tools and expertise for the children to solder the components together to make their own individual torches. The results were very successful and the children enjoyed having a taste of the KS3 curriculum.
Thank you to Bourne Grammar School, once
again, for this valuable experience for the
children.

¥Qué día tan fabuloso!

Our Spanish Day was a truly fabulosa celebration, with a real ambiente of excitement and enthusiasm around the school from start to finish. The children showed a genuine love for the Spanish language and culture, embracing every opportunity to learn and have fun.

There were so many exciting activities throughout the day, from creating colourful Spanish arts and crafts to dancing the flamenco with great energy and passion. The children enjoyed learning to sing La Bamba, tasting delicious Spanish foods and discovering more about the traditions of Spain. It was wonderful to see everyone so fully immersed in the language and culture.

The children looked fantĂĄstico in their outfits, helping to bring a little piece of Spain to our school. It was a day filled with learning, laughter and lots of alegrĂa.

A huge gracias to all the staff, particularly Miss Baldwin, whose hard work and dedication helped make the day such a success. ¥Olé! What a wonderful way to celebrate Spanish language and culture together.

Arts Week - Family Learning Session
As part of Arts Week, families enjoyed taking part in a Family Learning session based on the World Cup.
Children and their parents worked together to make flags, origami football shirts, medals and headwear to support a country of their choice. Throughout the session, families developed a variety of artistic and practical skills while sharing ideas and supporting one another. The activities helped to deepen everyone's
understanding of the benefits of arts and crafts, including creativity, communication and problem-solving. It was wonderful to see families having great fun together while producing imaginative football-inspired
creations.
