We will be taking part in the NSPCC challenge 'Kindness Week', during the last week of
term. We will be discussing ways to show kindness, the importance of being kind and making sure we are kind to each other. To help raise money for the NSPCC we will be having a non-uniform day on Friday 23rd October.

Year 6 were honoured to welcome Dr Jagger, who shared her family's personal experiences of World War II through fascinating photographs, treasured family medals and a letter from King George VI.
The session brought history to life and helped pupils understand what World War II meant for families in Lincolnshire. The children listened respectfully, asked thoughtful questions and were encouraged to think more deeply about the impact of the war through first-hand family stories.
It was a truly memorable and engaging visit; Year 6 would like to thank Dr Jagger for sharing these
precious memories with us.

This term, Year 1 have been learning all about the four seasons in Science. Last week, they focused on Winter and explored how animals survive the colder months. They learned that some animals, including hedgehogs, hibernate, while others store food to help them survive.
The children then took on an exciting challenge: designing and building their very own hedgehog houses to help keep hedgehogs safe and cosy during their winter hibernation.
Working in teams, the children shared ideas, solved problems and got creative with their designs. They worked brilliantly together and came up with some wonderfully imaginative and thoughtful hedgehog homes!
Miss Baldwin was so impressed by their teamwork, creativity and enthusiasm. Well done, Year 1!

SciFest
This week, as part of Bourne SciFest, we had some exciting visitors to the school. KS2 experienced the Starlinks dome, where
they could see our night sky and learn about our solar system. This linked to their learning about Space and our recent whole school English work about stars.
Harry from ZooLab visited KS1 and brought his snake, giant land snail, frog and tarantula The children were able to hold the snail and stroke the snake!

Year 3 became two types of scientist last week! They were archaeologists in their History lesson and geologists in their science lesson.
In History, they examined coprolites (ancient poo) to discover more about the Stone Age diet.
In Science, they carried out experiments on rock samples to see which rock would make a
good pavement. They investigated how hard and permeable various rocks were by performing 'scratch' and 'wetness' tests. Great experimenting Year 3!

Harvest Assembly
We enjoyed celebrating Harvest in our whole school assembly yesterday and were overwhelmed by the donations the children brought into school. These have now been collected by the Foodbank and will be much
appreciated by many families in our local community. Thank you so much for your support.
