🦁🐘 NEW! Dear Zoo Learning Pack 🦒🐒

It’s finally finished and I’m so pleased with how this one has come together! ❤️

I wanted to create more than just activities based around a story. This pack uses the familiar Dear Zoo theme to provide lots of different opportunities to develop communication, language, understanding and early learning skills.

Inside you’ll find:

The Colourful Semantics activity can be adapted to the individual child too. They might begin with a simple two-part sentence such as “The lion is sleeping”, before gradually adding what and where as their language develops.

✨ NEW RESOURCE COMING SOON! ✨

After having so many enquiries about sentence-building resources, I’ve been working on this… 💬

This is my first mock-up of the Sentence Building Book, and before I finish the final version, I’d really love to know what parents, teachers and SEND professionals think.

The book uses the Colourful Semantics structure 🧡💛💚💙 with:

🧡 Who?
💛 What doing?
💚 What?
💙 Where?

Each section has a different picture scene with a selection of matching visual cards. Children can look at what’s happening, choose their cards and build a sentence about the scene.

And importantly, they don’t have to use all four parts. A child might begin with a simple two-part sentence and gradually add more information as their confidence and language develop.

I’m currently thinking 5 different scenes, each with its own relevant cards, giving plenty of choice without making it overwhelming.

This will be available to order very soon 👀

I NEED YOUR HELP! 🧩💬

I’ve had so many messages asking for sentence-building resources, so I’ve finally started putting something together… but I want to make sure I’m creating what you actually need!

The idea is to help children build sentences using visual prompts for WHO + WHAT DOING + WHAT + WHERE, with the option to start with just 2 parts and build up as their language develops.

But how would you want it? 👀

📖 A complete sentence-building book with all the cards inside?
🖼️ Picture scenes with matching cards, so children can describe what they can see?
📚 Themed sets based around familiar stories/books?
🏖️ Different themes such as the beach, kitchen, park, school etc?
✨ Or a mixture of everything?

Teachers, SEND staff, parents, SALT professionals… tell me what would actually be useful! I’d much rather build this with your ideas than guess what you need 💙

🎶🪨 Nursery Rhyme Story Stones 🪨🎶

Another little resource I’ve been making for my SEND classroom 💙

Each stone represents a familiar nursery rhyme, giving children a really simple, visual and tactile way to choose which song they’d like to sing.

For a child who isn’t yet able to say “I want Incy Wincy Spider”, picking up the spider stone and giving it to an adult can communicate exactly the same message. And that’s the bit I love. 🥰

They can be used to support choice making, communication, attention, anticipation, turn taking and recognition, while the repetition and rhythm of nursery rhymes help build those really early foundations for language and literacy.

I’m planning to use them in group sessions, offer a choice of songs, hide them for children to find and use them as prompts for interaction.

Such a simple little resource, but SO many ways to use them.
