Haven High is a popular and oversubscribed school based in the heart of Boston, Lincolnshire. Meet our Year 7 Student Council

Congratulations to our newly elected Year 7 Student Council members! This is a real achievement.
Council members are chosen by their classmates, so this result reflects the trust and respect they have earned from their peers.
It also shows the qualities we see in them every day:
Reliability, Kindness, willingness to listen to others and the courage to speak up for what matters.

We’re so proud of every one of them, and we can’t wait to see what they achieve this year!

🌺 Poppies Now Available at Haven High 🌺

As we approach Remembrance Day, poppies are now available to purchase at Haven High.

Donations are welcome, and every contribution is appreciated.

Poppies will be taken around classrooms, but students and staff can also purchase them from the main school offices during break and lunchtime.

Thank you for your support as we remember and honour those who have served. 🌺

Science in Action at Haven High!

Our Year 8 students have been exploring the fascinating world of magnetic fields using iron filings!

Through this hands-on investigation, students were able to see how magnetic fields form patterns around magnets, bringing their classroom learning to life. A fantastic way to develop scientific curiosity and deepen their understanding of magnetism!

🎨✨ Year 7 Art – Exploring Vincent van Gogh! ✨🎨

Our Year 7 students have been busy exploring the work and life of the incredible artist Vincent van Gogh as part of their current Art lessons.

The students have been researching Van Gogh’s unique style, experimenting with different techniques and creating their own paintings inspired by his work.

We are so impressed with the creativity, effort and enthusiasm they have shown, and they have produced some truly stunning pieces of artwork!

Health & Social Care Students Get Moving!

Our Health and Social Care students took their learning out of the classroom and into the hall for an interactive activity based on the 6 Cs of Care: Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Courage and Commitment.

Students were given a range of realistic care scenarios and asked to move to the ‘C’ they believed was most important in each situation. They then had to explain and justify their choice, showing that
many care situations can involve more than one of the 6 Cs.
The activity was a great way to bring classroom learning to life, encourage discussion and help students build confidence in explaining their ideas.

A fun, active session with lots of excellent thinking and participation from everyone involved.
Great team work, justification and respecting others choices.

REMINDER – YEAR 8 MATHEMATICS CURRICULUM TRIP

A quick reminder to parents/carers that our Year 8 Mathematics Curriculum Trip to Bletchley Park is coming up! Remaining places are very limited.

Students will have the fantastic opportunity to explore the history of codebreaking and discover how mathematics, logic and problem-solving played a vital role at Bletchley Park.

With lots happening at Haven High over the coming weeks, here are some important dates for students and parents to keep in mind before the end of term 1.

Thursday 1st October
Year 7 Settling-In Evening 4pm-5pm
An opportunity for Year 7 parents/carers to meet with staff and find out how their child has settled into life at Haven High.

Monday 5th October
Year 7 Student Photographs – Tollfield Campus
Our Year 7 students will have their school photographs taken during the school day.

Monday 5th October – Thursday 22nd October
Year 11 Trial Exams
Our Year 11 students will be sitting their trial examinations during this period. We wish them the very best of luck and encourage them to continue working hard with their revision!

Thursday 8th October
Year 10 GCSE Drama – Blood Brothers Trip

Monday 19th October & Friday 23rd October
Year 8 Trip – Bletchley Park
Our Year 8 students will have the opportunity to visit Bletchley Park. Limited spaces are available, so please check PlusPay for further information and booking details.

Friday 23rd October – Last Day of Term 1
Monday 2nd November – Start of Term 2
