📢 Duke of Edinburgh Cooking Session Cancelled

Due to the current heatwave and the high temperatures forecast, we have made the decision to cancel the upcoming Duke of Edinburgh cooking session.

We are sorry for any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause, but the wellbeing and safety of our students must come first.
We will look to reschedule the session for September and will share further details as soon as a new date has been confirmed.

In the meantime, Mrs Mainwaring will be available for drop-in support should any students need assistance or have any questions regarding their Duke of Edinburgh activities.

☀️ Hot Weather Reminder ☀️

With the warm weather continuing this week, we would like to remind all students to bring a bottle of water or other suitable fluid to school each day to help them stay hydrated. Please note that fizzy drinks are not permitted in school.

💧 Water stations are available for students to refill their bottles at breaktime and lunchtime.

We would also like to remind parents and carers to refer to the uniform guidance that was shared last week via MyEd and ClassCharts, which outlines the temporary adjustments to our uniform expectations during the hot weather.

Thank you for your support in helping us keep students safe, comfortable and ready to learn during the warmer temperatures.

Partnering with the FutureSense Foundation, our students will work alongside rural communities, supporting vital education, health, and livelihoods initiatives that create long-lasting positive change. This immersive experience will allow them to learn from different cultures while developing leadership, empathy, and problem-solving skills that will shape them into compassionate global citizens.

📚✍️ 100-Word Writing Competition – Entries Open! ✍️📚

Mr Harwood will be running another 100-word writing competition for students in Years 8–10. This time, the theme is "WANTED".

This is a fantastic opportunity for students to develop their creative writing skills, challenge themselves, and even have the chance to be published. There are also some excellent prizes up for grabs for the best pieces of writing.

We encourage all eligible students to get involved and see where their imagination takes them. Good luck to everyone taking part!
