In this weeks gardening club we were planting up salads in the glasshouse raised beds. We then picked a selection of produce and flowers from the garden so that one of our regular attendees could set up a Harvest Festival display at Surfleet Church.

Great to be able to spread the word about our weekly gardening club and the produce that we grow here in the garden.💚🌱

We are excited to share that we have been sucessfull in the latest round of Pride in Place funding from Boston Borough Council.

This funding allows us to replace four outbuildings that are longer safe or useable, with one large workshop, with washing and toilet facilities. This is instrumental in us being able to offer attendees to our gardening clubs somewhere they can change footwear, wash up after a hard days work and it allows us to have better toilet facilities - because lets face it, compost loos are only so glamourous!

We can’t wait to show you the progress as things develop over the coming months! 💚

Grants of more than £450,000 have been awarded to projects across Boston through the Pride in Place Impact Fund!

In the final round of funding, a wide range of projects have been awarded with grants both large and small – and they all meet the Council’s aim of delivering long lasting improvements to everyday places and the spaces that matter most to residents.

Grants of up to £75,000 have been made available through the programme under three separate funds, supported by HM Government through the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.

Councillor Dale Broughton, Leader of Boston Borough Council, said: “This final round of the Pride in Place Impact Fund has been a great success.

“Being able to invest more than £450,000 across the Borough is made even more rewarding by knowing the positive impact this funding will have on our people and our communities.

“From the outset, our goal was to support initiatives that celebrate Boston’s heritage, strengthen community spirit and make a lasting difference for residents. I’m delighted that this funding has enabled us to do exactly that.

“Now it’s time for the projects to get under way and I’m already looking forward to seeing the results over the coming months.”

It’s with great pleasure that we can say as of October 2026 we are once again being supported by Shine Lincolnshire, Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and NHS Lincolnshire Intergrated Careboard to run our Adult Gardening Club - Growing Good🌱

This group runs every Thursday 9am -1pm, all weathers. It’s an opportunity for people to meet, socialise and carry out light gardening tasks around our market garden. We grow a wide variety of fresh fruit, vegetables and flowers throughout the season. It’s a brilliant way to improve mental health and promote positive wellbeing.
We welcome anyone that is 18+ and all abilities!

Additionally, we are now able to offer regular focused small group sessions and 1-1 appointments, for anyone being supported by a peer support worker or social prescriber. These are an opportinity to enjoy the garden but in a smaller, more focused way, particularly useful when people are initially unsure about diving into a bigger Thursday session or need a more personal approach. Our ‘treehouse’ also gives a great space to do more crafty activities while chatting in a relaxed space.

Thanks Carers First Lincolnshire for another great summer event in the garden💚🌱

Today we began setting out for Fishtoft Academys new outdoor classroom and veg growing area. Over the last few months we’ve been helping them to design a garden space that can be used for gardening lessons and general outdoor fun!

It consists of a paved area for a timber sumemrhouse, a series of raised planters, a low level pond, a stabilised gravel area under a sun shade and a lovely new greenhouse.

Today was just setting out and the real building begins later this week. Once complete we will be providing help with gardening lessons with all year groups, furnishing the garden with lots of lovely veg plants and some fruit trees once we get into autumn!

Its been a tough old season this one, but on the whole the gardens still been producing really well!

We’d just like to take a minute to thank everyone who visits our garden and helps make it what it is! From school groups, to our adult gardening club, aswell as other social enterprises using the space for team days, we couldn’t do it without you!

Over the next few weeks we will have some more good news about out adult clubs and supporting peoples mental health and wellbeing journeys!💚

Did you know we are currently one of the Local Community Funds nominated projects.

Their support has allowed us to invest in some new hand tools and equipment for our childrens gardening clubs, these shiny new trowels are about to be put to good use.
