Today we began setting out for Fishtoft Academys new outdoor classroom and veg growing area. Over the last few months we’ve been helping them to design a garden space that can be used for gardening lessons and general outdoor fun!

It consists of a paved area for a timber sumemrhouse, a series of raised planters, a low level pond, a stabilised gravel area under a sun shade and a lovely new greenhouse.

Today was just setting out and the real building begins later this week. Once complete we will be providing help with gardening lessons with all year groups, furnishing the garden with lots of lovely veg plants and some fruit trees once we get into autumn!

Its been a tough old season this one, but on the whole the gardens still been producing really well!

We’d just like to take a minute to thank everyone who visits our garden and helps make it what it is! From school groups, to our adult gardening club, aswell as other social enterprises using the space for team days, we couldn’t do it without you!

Over the next few weeks we will have some more good news about out adult clubs and supporting peoples mental health and wellbeing journeys!💚

Did you know we are currently one of the Local Community Funds nominated projects.

Their support has allowed us to invest in some new hand tools and equipment for our childrens gardening clubs, these shiny new trowels are about to be put to good use.
