Today has been a big day for us all but from myself and the girls at Middlecott I would like to say thank you. ✨ It has been a pleasure working alongside you all and watching all your children grow and flourish into the confident bubbly little characters they are today🥰

🎅Hoglets have had such a super fun week🤩 and they are so excited for Santa to come.🎅

❄️We’ve made snowflakes with tissue paper, which the children enjoyed a lot, and lots of other Christmas crafts. Hoglets also have had a Christmas party, they were dancing and singing along to the Christmas music.😊❄️

Hoglets🦔 have had lots of fun this week so far, we’ve had gingerbread play dough, which was then followed on by baking our own gingerbread men.😁

The children enjoyed baking, and got super messy🤩. Hoglets we’re super behaved and we were very impressed with how well they followed the recipe and measuring out all the ingredients🙂.
They also had a gingerbread scented play dough which they loved, which we also added natural resources for the children to use, some of the children even made their own hedgehog’s🦔❄️.

Christmas Dinner day tomorrow 🍽️ 🎅

All children are welcome to have our Christmas dinner tomorrow regardless as to whether they usually bring a pack up or not.

Please feel free to send your child in Christmas clothes if you wish to ☺️

Middlecott House Day Nursery Kirton breaks up on Wednesday 20th December and does not return back until until Thursday 4th January.

All the children in Duckling’s have had a fun filled December full of Christmas crafts and activities. It’s been an amazing month full of joy and laughter. The children have all took part in our planned activities ⭐️🎄and worked very hard in making some beautiful gifts and treats for their loved ones. ☃️🎅⭐️🎄🍪

We would all like to finish our week leading up to Christmas with lots of fun, party food and dancing to our favourite Christmas songs that we have all been practising together.

Here are the words to Duckling’s favourite song if your child has been singing it at home;

Christmas pudding, Christmas pudding,
Steaming hot, steaming hot.
Sprinkle on the sugar , sprinkle on the sugar.
Eat the lot, eat the lot.

Ducklings have been helping make some Cinnamon playdough. They all took it in turns to pour in the ingredients and did amazing at mixing! ⭐️
We added lots of glitter, dried orange slices, cutters and moulds for creating their own models. We showed lots of encouragement in turn taking , the children all waited patiently until it was their turn. 😊

🐥🎅Chicks have been super busy decorating their room with all sorts of Christmas crafts. They have transformed the room into a winter wonderland.☃️❄️✨ Chicks have been using primary colours to create unique pictures of Christmas lights.🎄
Tiny hands have been busy exploring different textures in our winter wonderland and used words to describe the textures such as ‘soft’ and ‘prickly’.🎅🐥

This week in cubs we’ve been getting super Christmasy with our tuff trays❄️ the children visited our Santas grotto 🎅 they felt the different textures from the fake snow, to the silver beads, before feeling the snowman’s fluffy hat 🎩 Cubs have also enjoyed helping Santa find his beard✨ they carefully sprinkled the oats onto Santa to create his beard ⭐️🤩 the children showed amazing hand-eye coordination when using the spoon to scoop the oats 😁

Ducklings have enjoyed exploring our Polar bear express ❄️
All the children had so much excitement feeling the textures of the rice, shiny ice rink and the soft furry bears. 🎄
The children rolled snowballs down the mountains using sparkly white pompoms. ❄️
The children have recently helped decorate some glass jars for our Christmas scenery. They have been using scoops to fill and empty them using blue rice. Ducklings were able to tell us that snow is cold and we must wear our hats and scarfs outside. 🧣🌨☃️
