We enjoyed exploring our creative skills using candles to make invisible patterns, then we used crayons to bring our picture out! Well done Toddlers!
Every child deserves the best possible start in life! Nursery is often a child’s first venture alone into the larger world outside the family and the home.

World book day! Preschools book of the day was "The Colour Monster" - the children were invited to come dressed all in one colour to represent the different emotions, or mixed up colours to be the mixed up monster. We also had some costumes and pyjamas for a cosy reading day! Children enjoyed taking part in lots of colour based activities such as organising by colour, making our own colour monster cups and plates and fishing for the different colours in the water tray! We have spoken lots about the different emotions and practiced using our faces and body movements to show how we feel each one.

Preschool have been enjoying the garden, now the spring weather is starting to arrive! We have been digging up lots of worms to see who can find the biggest. We then extended this by using bird pegs and pipe-cleaner worms to help the birds catch their lunch and exercise our fine motor skills!

📚📖It's World Book Day! 📚📖
Of course, this meant that our staff and children dressed up to celebrate. This year, the rooms had themes amongst the staff, and children came as their favourite book characters.
Can you guess each room's theme?🧙♀️🌈

preschool have enjoyed exploring the mud kitchen using lots of natural resources such as leaves, mud and roses. We mixed and used some wonderful mathematical language as we discussed whether we needed 'more' or had 'too much'. We also created our own cake recipes and counted the rose petals. We extended this further by using the rose petals to rub onto things and noticed how the colour from the rose made things purple!

Exploring animals! Babies have taken an interest in zoo animals this week. We have brought this interest to the nursery and created a sensory tuff tray with a jungle scent and zoo animals for the babies to explore. Babies have been copying many animal sounds and naming some of them. Babies enjoyed the sand between their fingers and began to feel the different textures of the wooden stones. Well done, Babies!

Baby spa for Children's Mental Health Day! Babies enjoyed a relaxing spa day with real flowers and white water. The babies enjoyed splashing and exploring the flowers. We added a sensory light to the room to give that relaxing feeling, and the babies loved watching the colours. Some of the babies explored colours through painting as they used the flowers to create their artwork. Well done, Babies!

Today in babies, we have been exploring different vehicles. The babies used the car, train and police car to create marks with paint. We played "ready, steady go!" With the vehicles through the paint. Well done, babies!
The Personal Touch...
We understand and recognise the relationships and attachments that babies and young children have with significant adults is of crucial importance in their life. We therefore provide a caring and consistent team of practitioners and as a result your child will benefit from the close and caring interactions of familiar team members. Your child will develop in confidence, independence, have motivation and self fulfilment and develop a true love of learning.
We operate a key person system, which means your child will have a specific person who will be responsible for catering, nurturing and developing their individual needs. Your child’s key person will be the one who records and plans for your child and updates their learning journey and writes their progress checks (don’t worry we will discuss this in detail a bit later!), supports them at pivotal times in their life such as, walking, weaning, toilet training and name writing etc, as well as the day to day care and attention you would expect.
Your child’s key person will be on hand at either the beginning or the end of the day to discuss your child’s day and all other relevant details. We will also have in place a co-key person system, so when your child’s key person in not at nursery, they have that secondary person who will adopt those same responsibilities.
All the team in your child’s base room will have a strong and significant relationship with your child and will be able to meet their day to day needs. You will quickly ease into nursery life developing relationships with all our team and in no time at all we will become your second home!
