I qualified as a teacher in 1988 and have taught the whole primary age range, both in the UK and abroad - in State and Independent schools.
I am the Director of St George's Preparatory School (which has three consecutive Ofsted 'outstanding' awards) and having now semi-retired I am available to tutor children in the local area - in English, (reading, writing, phonics, spelling, handwriting) Maths and 11+ preparation. We’re all ready for the last day of Summer School. Today, there will be two tests taken under conditions very similar to the real exams. The children have worked hard all week and I hope this will be reflected in their exam results today. Good luck everyone!

A five minute quiz to get the brain ready for work at Summer School this morning. The questions will assess what has already been taught this week. As we’re half way through the week, I have planned a few fun activities (yes, 11+ is hard work, but it can still be fun)!

This is what we covered at Summer School yesterday. Today we’re tacking hidden words, adding words, plus finding synonyms/antonyms. After a quick break we’ll look at completing sequences….another busy morning ahead!
