⭐️ Welcome to 2026-7 ⭐️

A new academic year is upon us, and we can’t wait to see our students very soon!

✏️ Y7 and Y11 return on Thursday 3 Sept
✏️ Y8, 9 and 10 return on Friday 4 Sept

✅ Our staff have been busy training today, and we are excited to have the whole of the LAAT team together tomorrow for our final preparations.

✅ Your children are our biggest priority, and it’s our privilege to educate them, to nurture them, and to see them grow at William Lovell.

✅ Today, we focused our training on safeguarding, on belonging, and on living our vision and values so that our young people can flourish.

✅ Tomorrow, we revisit high quality teaching and learning and the impact all staff can have on a young person’s journey.

✏️ Before we return officially on Thursday, there are a few updates that we wanted to remind you about!

🕰️ Be on site for 08:40am

⚽️ New Y7 don’t need PE kit on Thurs or Fri (all other year groups have access to timetables on their iPad)

🖥️ We are aware of a couple of issues with MCAS and loading payment for lunches - please don’t worry, we’re working to resolve this and we promise your child will be fed regardless! We’ll share an update when we know more.

👨🏾‍🎓 There is an expectation that students arrive equipped and in full, correct uniform from day 1 - please do hold the line as parents/carers to support us. Like you, we don’t want any unnecessary time wasted on return!

🚌 Make sure you have your bus pass, if you need one. We’ll always be on duty AM and PM to guide you to where you need to be.

🍃 As we continue to prepare for the autumn term, we’re delighted to launch our ‘grammar stream’ at William Lovell this year. Small class sizes and personalised support are key areas of strength at WLA, and we’re building on this by enhancing our academic offer to our most able students.

🍃We’re able to provide this because we have restructured our staff and have subject experts teaching in every department - something we are very proud of here at William Lovell. In addition, our skilled and experienced team of support staff has grown, to really personalise our offer and support learners who need that little bit extra.

🍃It’s not too late to join us in KS3 - we have places available in Y7, 8 and 9.

🚨 GCSE Exam Results Day 🚨

🎉 We are really looking forward to welcoming Y11 students and their families to William Lovell on Thursday 20th August from 09:00 to receive their long awaited GCSE results! 🎉

✅ Please park in the main car park, with overspill in the staff car park to the right of the driveway

✅ Please enter via the basketball courts into the sports hall (our main reception is being renovated, so please avoid this area!)

✅ Your form tutor or Aspirational Lead will be on hand to issue your results, with members of the senior team and support staff on hand to support next steps

✅ Before you leave, make sure to see Mrs Kelly to update her on any changes to destinations or courses

👨🏻‍🎨 You might think we’re all on annual leave here at William Lovell, but our site team and external contractors have been hard at work since we shut for summer…

👀 Here’s a sneak peek of what they’ve been up to!

🖥️ Our administrative team is growing and we’re enhancing our office spaces to accommodate this, ensuring we have meeting rooms available for our families and professionals too!

🚽 Students asked us to review and improve the toilet facilities in the main corridor - and we’ve done exactly that, with 4 brand new high-spec cubicles.

🪴 We’re part way through creating a garden seating area for students to enjoy at break and lunch times, to compliment the outdoor spaces already enhanced last year - this is thanks to a grant from the National Trust which we are so grateful for!

🍃 A huge congratulations to two members of staff who have retired this week from William Lovell!

✅ Mrs Waiya has completed 19 years as our dedicated food and nutrition teacher, and we would like to thank her for an exceptional commitment to our students during this time. We wish her all the best as she retires to be closer to her grandchildren.

✅ Mr Hopwood received the Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust Long Service Award this week after 31 years of teaching PE. We can’t quite believe where the time has gone and want to recognise his significant contribution he has made to our school.

Yesterday we hosted a wonderful farewell assembly for our colleagues departing us for pastures new. Thank you for all that you have done and all that you have given. We are truly grateful!
