🥋 Celebrating 50 Years of Karate Training 🥋
This month, I have the incredible privilege of celebrating 50 years of karate training.
When I first stepped onto the dojo floor, I never imagined that one decision would become a lifelong passion. Over the past five decades, karate has shaped not only the martial artist I have become, but the person I am today. It has taught me discipline, resilience, humility, respect, and the value of never giving up.
This milestone is not mine alone. I am deeply grateful to the instructors who inspired and guided me, unfortunately most are no longer with us RIP, the training partners who challenged me and the many many students that I have had the pleasure of teaching over the years . A few becoming instructors themselves.
Over all those years I never once thought “this is easy” or alternatively said “I can’t” . I never wanted to be a world champion, and I never set out to be an instructor. I just wanted to learn.
However, I’ve found myself in a few tricky situations along the way. Which Karate definitely helped me get out of😉 we used to refer to this as application training 😁
Looking back, I feel immense gratitude.
To everyone who has been part of these 50 years—thank you.
Here’s to the next chapter.
