When your child joins us, they will experience all of this, it's what life is all about at Jack In The Box. It doesn't matter if you are part of our nursery or joining us after a hard day's work at school, you will always receive a smile and warm welcome from the grown ups. We really do understand that play is important for all children, no matter what stage of development - after all as grown ups, we like to play too.

With tadpoles in the nursery pond, our children have loved getting to see them growing and have been exploring this through their focused learning times, including ID books and exploring water play to consider a frog's habitat. 🐸

Outdoor learning isn't just an approach we follow for our older cohorts; we offer this for all of our children at JITBX, and time to explore the outside environment through woodland play and waterschool is offered daily to our children because we value the theory behind outdoor learning and recognise the importance this has in shaping our children not just into stewards of the future but into confident children who are able to thrive. ☺️

Our wonderful team of early years educators are amazing advocates for our child-led learning environment and provide so many opportunities to use 'in the moment planning' to capture our children's interest, scaffold their learning and respond to their individual learning needs. We are very proud of our team and the relationships they are building with our JITBX Community. 💛

We love using stories to support our learning opportunities in our nursery settings and know they bring so much rich early literacy to what we offer here at JITBX.
We are very proud to offer books across our environment, not just inside. Our practitioners love reading with our little people, and we see so many strong literacy skills unfolding from our very little people at Crib Cottage, learning to turn pages and holding books the correct way up. At Leadon our children love sharing stories together; we often observe our older children 'reading' aloud to one another. 📚

Our older cohort has the most wonderful adventure at Canon Frome Court, which we were kindly invited to go and explore. The children loved getting to meet the lambs, kids & chickens; they also got to enjoy a tractor ride. 🚜

The children have so much fun interacting with the animals and helping to feed them and collect the eggs from the coops. 😊

✨ Some lovely snapshots of our spring term: the children are fostering such beautiful relationships with one another and are secure and confident in the nursery environment. It is always lovely to reach the summer term, where we see so many strong skills prevalent across our cohorts and their deep levels of play flourishing. 😊

At JITBX we are proud to offer woodland play opportunities and forest school on a daily basis. Our children have so many rich outdoor learning opportunities and love being outside in nature, risk-taking, building their negotiation skills and founding a strong love for the world around them. 🌳

💚 We have had so many beautiful signs of spring around the village and the woodland; the children are enjoying exploring stories and factual books about nature and plants!

The children love taking nature walks around the village with our forest school leads.🌳

🌲🐦 The children have been observing signs of spring and enjoying seeing more bird activity within our woodland over the term. The children enjoy listening to and hearing the bird sounds. They are keen on getting to learn the names of the different species and love looking at ID books.

We have been making bird feeders to put around our woods to attract more birds to our woodland.
