Yesterday, we were incredibly lucky to welcome El, Sarah and Barny from Music for Life to our school.
The day began with a wonderful morning assembly featuring well-known pop songs with creative twists; introductions to each of the musicians and mini-workshops (including a very challenging whole-school body percussion activity!) and some original Christian songs. Following the assembly, every class took part in a singing workshop building in harmonies and actions.
We love a good sing-song in school and have some fabulous singers, and after hearing the beautiful harmonies from Einstein Class in the first workshop, each class embraced their session brilliantly. El, Sarah and Barny all commented on how wonderful our children were and how enthusiastically they participated throughout the day.
It was a delight to watch the children perform their songs at the end of the day, but even more delightful was hearing just how much they had enjoyed the experience.
The children have already requested that two of the original songs be learned during collective worship, so I now have the task of working out the chords for them! I have shared the songs below, as some children were keen to sing them at home too.
Here is a little snippet from the assembly.
