Following the sad news we received over the Christmas break that Mr Tom Johnson, Teacher of Physical Education, had died, we will be holding a Memorial Service in thanksgiving for his life on Friday 24 April 2026 at 11.00am in the Chapel. To ensure that all who wish to participate are able to do so, the Memorial Service will be live-streamed into additional spaces across the School.

For over 17 years on our staff team, Mr Johnson contributed so much to the Sport Department, with a particular focus on the Prep. He was an inspirational teacher and a much-loved colleague.

We anticipate that the Memorial Service will last approximately one hour. The Johnson family has asked that attendees do not wear black to the service. This is a celebration of Mr Johnson’s life and his legacy, in our School community and for New Hall Sport in particular. To honour his memory, all students and staff have been invited to wear New Hall sports kit for the day. Following the Memorial Service, the community will take part in a remembrance run/walk around the School site, in Mr Johnson's memory. Old Fishes may choose to dress likewise, in appropriate sporting attire, such as a tracksuit (those in the Chapel should not wear shorts).

Old Fishes are most welcome to join, confirming attendance here: https://form.jotform.com/261063419950053
