Hi everyone, hope you are all managing to keep well. Unusual and trying times at the moment. We hope home school learning is going well? If it's not, and you feel you may require some help with lessons, please private message us, or email us and we will see whether it's something we can help with via Skype. We will have to charge, but at a lesser rate than when we are travelling to houses for tuition. My student enjoyed making these 'half-past' time 'bugs'. Children with dyslexia may struggle to tell the time easily, particularly on an analogue clock. They may find it difficult to distinguish between the hands and what they represent. They may find it hard to tell the time in smaller chunks like 3:06, or they may find concepts such as 'to' and 'past' confusing. As a parent/guardian you can help by buying a teaching clock that has the 'past' and 'to' areas of the clock differentiated to practise with. When you're out and about make your child the official 'timekeeper' - frequently ask him/her what the time is. There are many on-line time games to play for example these below

Eight years ago today Sarah graduated from Chichester University with a BA Hons. Sarah will not mind me telling you all, that she is dyslexic with a processing speed on the 5th centile. She is also a qualified primary school teacher and also has the Level 5 diploma in teaching children with SpLDs.

A simple, but effective way of practising to spell the 'ould' words.

I always find this a popular activity. You write HFW's in white wax crayon and the student goes over the paper with watercolour paint and they can then read the words.
