Third year of a living Christmas tree, this time it get put into our Occa bed. Occa is an amazing low maintenance, no brainer cover crop that works in temperate climates like Scotland. Ideal for families and schools to grow because the harvest is during term time. Nov/Dec.

Using Permaculture Design to get a result I thought would be a big job. This is a little story about how today I finally managed to find an early morning spot to have a cup of tea in my garden that is sunny and private.

I've been meaning to do this for years but in my mind it's involved in a project where I put up a fence and make the area private to the side of my garden but this morning, with a cup of tea in my hand, I asked myself "is there a way I could use iterative design." to get me a little bit of the results I want: Right Now?

I just wanted to sit down in the sun in the morning in a private spot in my garden. And I did it. It was simple and lovely 20 min.

This video is a little bit about how I used "iterative" Permaculture design to solve this problem and it worked. It could maybe even work for you and your garden or in your office to find a sunny spot and it's also a little example of how this kind of design works in suburban gardens.

It's the way that I have designed my garden, my business and my life over the last 5 yrs of learning Permaculture Design. I now take one little design solution, apply it, experience it and then develop it another design solution until step by step I get towards what I want in the most efficient and effective way possible.

There are three specialist breeds just about to hatch. We are not sure what the hatch rate is. Sometimes out of 18 you can only get one or two. Looks like three are shaking so far.

Hatching chicks in this amazing incubator. It's hard to do things as well as nature but this one does it as well as any machine can. 18 eggs just a day away from hatching. They've been in 20 days. Tomorrow is their due date.

Summertime in our family garden. It's a demonstration 'scotLAND' site for Permaculture design in a suburban setting. Kind of Permaculture in disguise. The goal is 3% self sufficiency from the garden for food, energy, nutrition, etc.

Do you know anyone in the Lothians who has a Dyslexic child doing exams? "How to Mind Map for Nat 5's and Highers with Dyslexia", is a course that I am creating. I'm looking for 12 families to collaborate and sign up for the pilot.
Exams were a struggle for me because of Dyslexia until I figured out a systematic Mind Map Study System. I'm now a learning addict with 6 Highers, Law Degree, Primary Teacher, Joiner, Theology, Permaculture etc. I'm Piloting a new Mind Map course to teach Teens and parents facing exams in May. Restoration starts to Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s famous design of Miss Cranston’s Willow Tea Rooms in Glasgow.

I took this footage today to record the official moment that this Glasgow icon begins its transformation and restoration from decaying memory into a centre to celebrate female entrepreneurship and Glasgow design.

Opened by Chair of The Willow Tearooms Trust, Celia Sinclair and Leader of Glasgow City Council, Frank McAveety.

Honorary Professorial Research Fellow Glasgow University, Pamela Robertson, gives a brief overview of the history. (Her full talk will be in a later video.)

Roccbox: Portable wood fired pizza oven has arrived. One of the first green coloured ones to arrive in UK. I've made the clay wood pizza ovens before. They are great, but this one is for smaller groups, fires up in 15 min and cooks pizzas in 90 secs. Just trying it out to see if it lived up to expectations. We are hoping that this is a useful community building tool. (And cooks great pizza :) )
