Last night was one of those really special nights that makes me stop and think how lucky I am to do what I do. 🤍
I had the absolute pleasure of taking our team to the at the Sheraton Grand for a gorgeous black tie evening, celebrating some of the incredible people within the dance industry.
We were already SO proud to have two Southside finalists among several nominations which we are just so proud of.
Our beautiful , finalist for Dancer of the Year
Miss Rachael Skillen, finalist for Up and Coming Choreographer of the Year
And then… SHE WON🏆😭
I went into last night feeling so positive for Rachael. I just had this feeling that this was her year, because what she has achieved over the past 12 months has been nothing short of incredible.
One of the happiest parts of my job is watching our dancers grow, develop and become the very best versions of themselves. But something I maybe don’t talk about enough is how special it is to watch my team do exactly the same.
To watch teachers grow in confidence, find their strengths, push themselves creatively and achieve things they perhaps once wouldn’t have imagined.
I am unbelievably proud of Rachael. Not just of the teacher she has become or the choreographer she is becoming, but of the human she is too.
She pours so much of herself into our dancers and into this team. She cares enormously. She works ridiculously hard. She is constantly learning, creating and pushing herself to be better. And the results of that have been pretty incredible to watch.
Seeing her name announced last night and watching our whole table erupt for her was a moment I won’t forget. 🥹
And getting to spend the evening with this lovely team of mine, dressed up, celebrating, dancing and just genuinely enjoying being together was the cherry on top. We are all a little fragile today 🥂
Rachael, nobody deserves this recognition more.
Golden Dance Awards Up and Coming Choreographer of the Year. 🏆
How amazing does that sound?! 🤍
So, so proud of you.
Love,
Miss Louise x
