Transitions are a big step for children, and they happen throughout childhood. 🎵
Starting nursery, moving rooms, beginning school, moving to secondary school or taking the next step in their musical journey can all bring excitement, anticipation and uncertainty.
This year, I’m experiencing one of those transitions first hand as my own little boy has started school ❤️
Music can provide something familiar within all that change.
A familiar song.
A familiar routine.
A familiar face.
A familiar instrument.
Through musical experiences, children have opportunities to participate, express themselves, build confidence and grow in independence.
Because music isn’t just part of a child’s learning journey, it can be a positive and familiar part of their journey through change. 🎵
So, if your child or the children in your setting are going through a transition right now, I see you ❤️
Sometimes, a familiar song, a familiar face or a little bit of music can provide a reassuring thread of continuity while everything else is changing.
