🌈 Mr Men Week in the toddler room!
We've had a fantastic Mr Men Week in toddlers!
Through messy play, music, sensory exploration and creative activities, the children explored different characters and their unique personalities.
Mr Messy
The children explored a giant tray of spaghetti, pulling, lifting, squeezing and sorting the noodles. They counted strands, talked about textures and used their fine motor skills to manipulate the spaghetti.
🥁Mr Noisy
The toddlers explored a variety of musical instruments, including drums, shakers, xylophones and keyboards. They enjoyed creating sounds, listening to different rhythms and joining in with music together.
💛Mr Happy
The toddlers explored yellow playdough with a variety of tools and loose parts. They rolled, squashed, poked and created their own happy faces and designs while talking about emotions and happiness.
😴Mr Calm,
We explored an emotions and feelings tray where the children looked at different facial expressions, talked about their feelings. It encouraged the toddlers communication and language skills as they shared their thoughts and experiences with others.
🤪Mr Jelly, we created a jelly sensory tray for the children to touch, squeeze, scoop and explore. This activity was chosen to provide a fun sensory experience while developing fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and descriptive language. The children enjoyed investigating the texture and movement of the jelly, making observations and using their senses to learn through play, which supported their curiosity and understanding of the world.
Which Mr Men character was your child's favourite? 😊📚🌈

😊👏BRAVERY AWARD👏☺️
Today Sonny received a Brave Award in the toddler room, and we couldn't be prouder. 💙
Hospital visits can be scary, especially when you're so little, but Sonny showed so much courage, strength, and resilience throughout it all. He’s come back into nursery with a big brave smile and reminded us just how amazing he is!
This special award is a lovely reminder of how well he did!
Well done, Sonny. You are a superhero. ⭐💙

🌿💚 Green Week in Our Toddler Room 💚🌿
This week we celebrated Green Week through a variety of hands-on activities that encouraged learning, creativity, and an appreciation for nature.
• 🌎 Earth Rice Sensory Play– Children explored coloured rice representing our planet, helping to develop their sensory skills, hand-eye coordination, and conversations about caring for the Earth.
• 🌱 Flower Planting– The children planted their own flowers, learning about how plants grow while developing responsibility, patience, and an understanding of the natural world.
• 🎨 Nature Crafts with Paint– Using natural materials and paint, the children created beautiful artwork, encouraging creativity, self-expression, and an appreciation for the textures, colours, and shapes found in nature.
A wonderful week full of exploration, learning, and fun! 💚🌿

We have added various sized hoops to our physical area in the baby room. These hoops help us identify shapes and colours as well as different body parts, but the main reason we have added these is to introduce our babies to early dressing skills! We pull the small hoops over our feet as an introduction to putting on socks. We stand in the big hoop, pulling it up and down as an introduction to pulling up trousers. And we lift the big hoops over our heads as an introduction to taking off/ putting on a T-shirt. The babies have really enjoyed playing with these hoops and are on the way to independence through play!

🐝🌼 Big Green Week! 🌼🐝
Today for Big Green Week the Preschool children have been planting some flowers! 🌸
We spoke about the life cycle of a plant, and how we can look after it to help it grow. The preschoolers have also been reading some stories about nature, and been colouring some lovely pictures of flowers, bumblebees and plant life cycles.
Well done guys!🌷
