We’ve been welcoming children to Baby Bede Nursery since June 2003, offering a truly fantastic childcare service. The quality of the staff team at our nursery is paramount to creating a safe and stimulating learning environment. Children’s days are packed full of exciting activities designed in line with the Early Year Foundation Stage (EYFS) and implemented by our highly trained and knowledgeable staff. Baby Bede nursery is designed to suit the needs of all children from babies to pre-school. We look at every experience as an opportunity to learn and always help your children use their imagination and explore, providing them with excellent resources and supporting them in their adventures. As well as toys, we use;

• Real life props, such as gardening tools and paint brushes
• Supporting social interaction, including role play, den making, and small group activities
• Small-world toys to help build a child's imagination and language skills
• Construction play such as building blocks and tape measures, to help children develop fine motor skills, spatial awareness and problem solving
• Creative play to build a child’s imagination, creativity and co-ordination

Baby Bede Nursery is run by St Bede Childcare Ltd. This enables us to have a direct link to the OFSTED 'Outstanding' held by St Bede C of E Primary Academy and ensures that the best educational start is guaranteed for your child. We are now a registered charity which means we are a 'not for profit' organization, therefore, any profit generated is invested back into the business for the benefit of the children. We at Baby Bede Nursery aim to offer to parents an extension to their home, where children will be loved, cared for and educated to the highest standard, allowing parents to return to work knowing their child's needs, likes and enjoyment are fully catered for.

🌾🧡 Our Little Scarecrow Makers! 🧡🌾

During our recent walk to the allotments, the children spotted a scarecrow! 👀🌻 We followed their interest and brought this exciting discovery back into our learning.

The children enjoyed using junk modelling to design and create their very own scarecrows. 📦🧻✂️ They used their imaginations, explored different materials and made lots of wonderful choices as they brought their creations to life.

We then linked their interest into our literacy learning by sharing the lovely story The Scarecrow’s Wedding 📚💍🌾. The children enjoyed listening to the story, talking about the characters and making connections between what they had seen on our allotment walk and what happened in the book.

It was wonderful to see how a simple moment of curiosity on our walk could grow into so much meaningful learning! 💕✨

We are so incredibly proud to celebrate Emily on successfully passing her Level 2 Childcare Apprenticeship! 🥳👏

Emily has worked incredibly hard throughout her apprenticeship, showing such dedication, commitment and, most importantly, a real passion for her job and the children she cares for. ❤️ Her enthusiasm and love for childcare shines through in everything she does, and she should be so proud of everything she has achieved.

We’re also excited to share that Emily will now be based in our Toddler Room! 🧸💛 She is really looking forward to this next chapter, getting to know all of the wonderful parents and, of course, all of the little ones in her care.

Well done, Emily! You have worked so hard for this, and we can’t wait to see you continue to grow and flourish in your new role! 🌟👏

This morning, Chloe and Jordan took some of our preschool children along to the church to enjoy the Harvest Festival. The children had such a lovely time and really enjoyed it. A big thank you for having us! ❤️

Our toddlers have been busy conducting their very own science experiments and discovering what happens when we mix vinegar with bicarbonate of soda! 🥰

The children were fascinated as they carefully used pipettes to pour the vinegar, developing their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and control. They then mixed the ingredients together and watched with excitement as they created a bubbly, fizzy “explosion”! 💥🫧

There were lots of opportunities to introduce and explore new language such as fizz, bubble, mix, pour, reaction, explode and bicarbonate. The children watched intently, waiting to see what would happen next, and were encouraged to make their own predictions!

It was wonderful to see such curiosity, concentration and enthusiasm from everyone. 🌟 Our little scientists were fully engaged, exploring cause and effect through hands-on learning while having lots of fun along the way!

What a fantastic morning of learning through play and discovery! 🧪💫

🍂🌰 Autumn sensory fun this morning! 🌲🍁

Our babies had so much fun exploring tunnels and hoops decorated with leaves, conkers and pine cones! They crawled, reached, touched and moved their way through the activity, enjoying all the different sights, textures and smells of autumn. 🤎

This simple activity supported so many areas of their development:

✨ Gross motor skills – crawling, reaching, stretching and moving through the tunnels helped strengthen their muscles and coordination.

👀 Hand-eye coordination – reaching out to touch and explore the natural objects encouraged babies to practise coordinating what they see with their movements.

🖐️ Sensory development – the different textures, shapes, smells and colours provided lots of opportunities for sensory exploration.

🧠 Curiosity and problem-solving – babies were encouraged to explore their surroundings, make choices and work out how to move through and around the obstacles.

💬 Communication and language – talking about the leaves, pine cones and conkers introduced new words and encouraged interaction with the adults around them.

❤️ Most importantly, they were having lots of fun while learning through play and exploring the wonderful natural world around them! 🍂🌰

🌿🎨 A morning full of spices, creativity & sensory fun! 🎨🌿

This morning, the children have been getting creative using cinnamon spice and natural spices to make their very own paints! 🌈✨

They explored the wonderful colours, smells and textures of the spices while enjoying some lovely messy, hands-on painting. 🖌️🤎

Then we took the sensory fun one step further and made cinnamon playdough! 🥰 The children loved mixing, squishing, rolling and exploring the natural scent of cinnamon. 🍂

This week, our children have each shown their own individual dedication to learning, whether that has been through exploring new experiences, trying something for the first time, developing their independence, showing kindness to others, or simply giving something their very best effort. It has been wonderful to see each child grow, learn and shine in their own special way!
