✨ Sparkle Room Update Music✨

What another fantastic week it’s been in our Sparkle Room! ✨❤️

Our Sparklers have continued with their ‘Ourselves’ topic, enjoying lots of different activities all about themselves, who they are and what makes each of them special.

They’ve also been introduced to our Musician of the Month, Nina Simone. 🎶 The children loved listening to her distinctive voice and exploring her music, and it wasn’t long before we had a room full of budding musicians pretending to play the piano just like her! 🎹

From learning all about ourselves to discovering a completely different sound and style of music, there’s certainly never a dull week in Sparkle! ✨

Year 1 Green have been busy exploring number bonds within 10 in maths today! 🔢💚

Armed with cubes, the children challenged themselves to find as many different number bonds as they could, moving and splitting their cubes to see all the different ways numbers can work together to make 10, and the numbers below it.

Lots of hands on maths and some very busy little mathematicians. Great work, Year 1 Green! 🌟

Year 2 Green have been busy building on their fact family knowledge in maths this week! 💚🔢

They started by putting their memories to the test and retrieving lots of number bonds, using what they already know to help them make connections between numbers.

Those number facts are becoming quicker and more confident - exactly what we like to see! 🌟

Things got a little competitive in Year 6 Blue during PE this week! ⚽💙

The children were working on their football skills, putting plenty of energy into their passing, control and teamwork before getting stuck into some competitive play.

It’s safe to say nobody was taking it easy - Year 6 Blue definitely gave it their all! There was plenty of determination on display and, judging by the faces, winning suddenly became very important.

A great afternoon of football! ⚽👏

✨Sparkle Room Update ✨

Our Sparklers have continued exploring time and daily routines in maths this week, with the focus turning to mealtimes. ✨❤️

They’ve been busy laying the table, serving one another some delicious snacks and even washing their own pots afterwards. Very impressive indeed, and, more importantly, photographic evidence that they absolutely can help with the chores at home! 😂🍽️

In English, the children have been working hard on their handwriting. They started big, using colourful scarves to form letters in the air, before using their fingers and sprinkles to practise the shapes on a smaller scale. ✍️

Finally, they put all that practice to good use, forming their letters on whiteboards and their own name cards. Lots of different ways to learn, practise and build those all important early writing skills.

Another busy week in our Sparkle Room! ✨

Year 2 Blue turned their classroom into a supermarket today as they explored the benefits of Information Technology! 🛒💙

The children talked about some of the technology we see being used every day, including scanners to add up prices and tills to take payments.

Then it was time to put their learning into action with their very own supermarket role play! They took turns using technology just as they would see it being used in the shops, making their Computing learning feel very real indeed. 💻

Shopping without actually spending any money - we could get used to that! 😂
