As we reach the end of the week, we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to send a message as part of Thank a Teacher Day on Wednesday. ❤️
Over the past few days, your messages of appreciation have been filtering through to our staff, and it has been wonderful to see the smiles they have brought. Every kind word, thoughtful comment and heartfelt thank you has meant so much.
Our teachers and support staff come to work each day because they care deeply about the children and families of St Peter’s. They don’t do it for recognition, but knowing that their hard work, dedication and kindness are noticed by parents as well as the children is an incredibly special feeling.
It is often the smallest gestures that have the biggest impact, and your messages have certainly done that this week.
From everyone at St Peter’s, thank you for helping make Thank a Teacher Day so meaningful. Your support and appreciation are valued more than you know. 🌟

Today we would like to share a very special story from two members of our St Peter’s family, Miss Yarwood and Miss Westhead. ❤️
Their sister and mother, Nicola Molyneux, had a wonderful imagination and a love of writing. Throughout her life, she wrote many children’s stories, but sadly she passed away before she could see them published.
In a beautiful tribute to her memory, Miss Westhead has recently published the final children’s book Nicola wrote before her passing, helping to fulfil a lifelong dream and ensuring her stories can now be enjoyed by children everywhere.
📖 Barney Bee’s Colourful Adventure tells the story of Barney Bee, who is feeling sad because he doesn’t know what colours are. Encouraged by his mum, Barney sets off on an adventure to discover the colourful world around him and learns that every colour is special in its own way.
Our Year 1 children have already had the pleasure of reading Barney Bee’s Colourful Adventure in school and they thoroughly enjoyed it. The colourful illustrations, engaging story and important message captured their imaginations and inspired some fantastic discussions. In fact, the children loved the book so much that afterwards they created their own pages to add to Barney’s adventure, using their creativity to continue the story in their own unique ways!
We think this is a truly special story, not only because of the book itself, but because of the love, determination and family support behind it. We are incredibly proud of Miss Westhead and her family for keeping Nicola’s memory and dreams alive in such a meaningful way.
If you would like to support Nicola’s legacy and help make her dream come true, you can purchase a copy of Barney Bee’s Colourful Adventure here:

Please join us in celebrating Nicola’s incredible achievement and the family who have worked so hard to share her story with the world. 💕

✨ Sparkle Room Update ✨
It’s been another busy and exciting week in the Sparkle Room!
The children have been having lots of fun completing obstacle courses while practising their positional language, using words such as under, above and around to describe where they were moving. It has been wonderful to see their confidence and communication skills growing through active play.
In Maths, we have been exploring doubles, finding matching pairs and learning how numbers can be doubled in different ways. The children have worked incredibly hard and enjoyed taking part in a range of practical activities.
We have also been busy creating some fantastic key rings ready to sell for our class charity next week. The children have shown great care and creativity, and we are very proud of their efforts.
To finish off the week, we enjoyed some messy play making delicious looking ice creams. There were lots of smiles, imaginative ideas and plenty of fun along the way! 🍦😊
Well done, Sparkle Room, for another brilliant week of learning and fun!

Today in RE, Year 1 Green explored what Jewish people believe about being special and unique to God.
The children learned about the Torah scroll and discussed the stories and teachings that can be found within it. They then read Psalm 8 and reflected on what it teaches Jewish people about God’s love for them and the value of every person.
To deepen their understanding, the children looked at artwork inspired by the Psalms that is displayed in the Museum of Psalms in Jerusalem. They discussed how artists can use colour, shape and imagery to express feelings and meanings found in religious texts.
Inspired by what they had seen, the children created their own beautiful artistic representations of Psalm 8. We were so impressed by their thoughtful ideas, creativity and the care they put into their work.
🎨✨ A wonderful combination of RE, reflection and creativity!

Year 3 Green have been busy exploring their Science topic on plants and how they grow this term. 🌱🌼
To help bring their learning to life, the children took part in a fun and interactive activity all about pollination. Stepping into role as flowers and pollinators, they acted out the process of how pollen is transferred from one flower to another.
The activity helped the children develop a deeper understanding of the important role pollinators play in helping plants reproduce, and there was plenty of enthusiasm as everyone got involved in the learning.
A fantastic way to turn Science into something memorable, engaging and fun! 🐝🌸
