🎃🍂 Pumpkin Investigation! 🍂🎃

Today we became little pumpkin investigators! We explored our pumpkins using our senses and talked about their shape, colour, size and weight. We compared them, noticed similarities and differences and shared our ideas about which pumpkins might be the heaviest and lightest. 🧡

We then got creative and drew our pumpkins independently, choosing our own materials and deciding how we wanted to represent what we had observed. ✏️🎨

A wonderful opportunity to develop our mathematical language, observation skills, mark making, creativity and confidence, while following the children’s own ideas and interests.

And of course… lots of pumpkin fun along the way! 🎃🍁🧡

Tab nappies all day 💜

Ever wondered why your childminder prefers tab nappies?
This is why.
On our trip to the woods I needed to change one of the Hedgehogs.
They were covered in mud and really didn’t want to stop to have their nappy changed.
It was a bit chilly and a bit damp as well!

Thankfully this child had tab nappies on.
This meant I didn’t have to fully undress them, they stayed dry and mostly warm too.

We were sorted in half the time it takes to fully undress for pull ups!

Which meant that this hedgehog was back off playing in the woods in no time!

✈️🎂 A special birthday adventure! 🎂✈️

Today we headed to the airport runway for a very special birthday treat for one of our little ones, whose absolute passion is planes! 🥰✈️

There was so much excitement watching the planes take off and land, spotting different aircraft and sharing in the magic of seeing them so close. ✈️👀

But one of my favourite parts of the day was watching the children helping and supporting each other, sharing, taking turns and playing so beautifully together. 💕 They showed such lovely kindness, patience and teamwork throughout our adventure.

It was wonderful to follow a child’s special interest and turn it into a meaningful learning experience — bringing their interests to life while creating memories together. ❤️

A very happy birthday to our little plane enthusiast! 🎂✈️ We hope your special adventure was everything you wished for! 🥰

All set up to celebrate a special little boys birthday tomorrow- 💜

🎈 Playcentre Fun! 🎈

Today we headed out for a visit to our local playcentre, and what a fun-filled time we had! 🥰

The children had so much fun exploring, climbing, crawling, sliding and using their imaginations as they played. There were lots of opportunities to develop those important physical skills, coordination, balance and confidence, while also practising sharing, turn-taking and playing alongside their friends. ❤️

I love watching the children become more independent as they explore new environments, challenge themselves and, most importantly, have lots of fun! 🌟

🔴🟡🟢 Celebrating Dot Day at KelsKids! 🔵🟣🟠

Yesterday we celebrated International Dot Day – a wonderful opportunity to encourage the children to make their mark and celebrate that everyone is unique! 🌈✨

We had lots of fun getting creative with dots, exploring different colours, patterns, sizes and textures. The children enjoyed experimenting, making their own marks and seeing where their creativity could take them. 🎨🖌️

But Dot Day is about so much more than just making dots… it’s about having a go, being brave, believing in ourselves and knowing that even the smallest mark can make a difference. 💕

The children were encouraged to talk about their ideas, make their own choices and proudly share their creations with each other.

A lovely day full of creativity, confidence, curiosity and lots of colourful fun! 🌈
