Look how great my little tutoring room is starting to look!! ❤️

I still have my big desk for group work, discussions, and all the collaborative learning I love so much.

But now along the back wall, I’ve set up individual desks for those moments when it’s time to apply our learning independently and away from distractions.

It’s the perfect balance of teamwork and focused practice. Can't wait to see all the learning taking place!!

Small group tuition in Bolton 💛

There are just a couple of spaces left in my Year 6 SATs groups, and we’re also enrolling for Bolton School Exam Prep (Saturdays 2.30-3.30pm) and our new Year 1 phonics group (Tuesdays 4:30–5:30pm).

Sessions are nurturing, engaging and designed to build confidence as well as skills- because children learn best when they feel safe and supported.

If you’d like more information, just send me a message.

I’ve opened up a small number of ad-hoc 1:1 tuition sessions over the half-term break.

These sessions are perfect for:
• Targeting learning gaps
• Boosting confidence in tricky areas
• Pre-teaching content coming up next term

They’re especially helpful for children who:
• Are in need a confidence boost
• Are currently in group sessions
• Are due to start groups soon and would benefit from a little extra support

⚠️ 1:1 is usually fully booked, so these slots are limited and only take place during the holiday.

🌊 Sea-nopology! 🌊
(Brilliant name credit goes to Josh from my English group!)

This week, we dove into The Great Under the Sea Quiz Book and turned sea-creature facts into trivia cards. Then leveled it up into a full-on sea board game. 🧠🐠

So much learning. So much engagement. And best of all, an educational game students are excited to take home and play again.

I love creating lessons that spark creativity, deepen comprehension, and make learning feel like play.

Hello again 👋

I realised it’s been a while since I properly re-introduced myself, especially as the tutoring side of things has grown.

I’m Holly, a primary teacher and tutor based in Bolton, passionate about confidence-building, nurturing support, and helping children feel good about learning again.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing a bit more about what’s coming up, including introducing some brilliant new tutors who’ll be joining me and some new support for younger learners.

Thanks so much for being here 💛

Calling all Primary Tutors or Teachers

I run a small, growing tutoring provision in Bolton, and I’m looking for KS1 or KS2 teachers / experienced tutors interested in some regular, term-time tutoring work.

This would be ideal for:

- part-time teachers
- teachers looking to step away from full-time classroom teaching
- experienced tutors who enjoy working in a nurturing, supportive environment

The role:
- Tutoring primary-aged children (KS1 or KS2)
- 1:1 and small group sessions
- Maths, English, SATs preparation and some 11+ groups
- Supporting children who may lack confidence or need learning adapted
- Sessions are evenings during term time
- Hours are flexible and can fit around other commitments
- Optional holiday work if you’d like it

Our approach:

We focus on positive, supportive and confidence-building tuition. Sessions are structured but engaging, and tutors work with the same children each week in a well-organised, calm setting.

You:
- KS1 or KS2 teaching experience
- Warm, encouraging approach
- Confident working 1:1 or with small groups
- SEN experience desirable, but not essential

Pay:
- £30–£35 per session for 1:1
- £40–£45 per session for small groups
- Paid per session, term-time only

Tutoring takes place in a dedicated tutoring space in Bolton.
No chasing parents, no organising payments.

If this sounds like a good fit, feel free to comment or message me for a chat 😊
