Oh no! It's happening again! 🤣 The Beeb are coming to film today, but this time I'm in my natural habitat, in the woods at Smithills Estate in Bolton, with Forest Frontiers Forest School and the fabulous Amanda Twigly!
Phew!! Far less nerve-racking.
A bit of a change from groups of adults though today - I'm teaching kids in a forest school & showing them the MUSHROOMS!!! 😍😁
Kids love mushrooms. Scratch that - EVERYONE loves them! I challenge anyone not to be enthralled and fascinated by a mushroom forage!!
So, another TV snippet, this time on the evening news 😁

Big shout out to Ali Mac, the FUNgi GUY!
He passed my name on to the Beeb, because he couldn't do this morning's slot. Thank you Ali, I owe you one!
Picture from years and years ago when we first met 😁 taken on a group coastal forage day at Silverdale.

What happens on a forage?
A lovely video by news outlet The Manchester, filmed a few years ago at Rivington Terraced Gardens.
The video is made up of snippets from the day. At the end, we had 6 species of edible mushrooms in the pan... This can often be 26, depending on what is coming up on the day 😁
In the video, I mention that even deadly mushrooms can be safely taste-tested... the next part is cut, but very important - moved off the deadlies require taste testing! They are all visually identifiable; there is no need to taste them. (Phew! 🤣)
