🐝 What’s on at Essa Primary Academy this week? 📅 5th–9th October 2026

We’ve got another busy week ahead, with lots happening for our children, families and wider school community!

From our Community Language Hub and Learning in Action, to Thrive Time, Starbooks, Hope and Honey, sporting events, parent workshops and our Reception 2027 Open Day visit — there’s plenty to look forward to.

🥫 On Friday, we’ll also be collecting donations for the Foodbank. Please bring along a tin, packet or bottle if you’re able to contribute.

And, of course, we’ll finish the week with Feel Good Friday! 💛

Please check the poster for all dates and times.

🤠🌵 YEAR 6 STEP BREAKFAST – WILD WEST STYLE! 🌵🤠

What. A. Vibe. ⭐

Today, our Year 6 pupils celebrated receiving their first set of STEP exam results — and we went all out with a Wild West themed STEP Breakfast! 🤠

After all their hard work, it was time to celebrate their achievements together. With a shooting gallery, target throwing, cowboy props, Wanted posters, breakfast and plenty of Wild West fun, the morning was packed with smiles, laughter and a few very competitive cowboys and cowgirls! 🎯🐎⭐

STEP Breakfasts are about recognising effort, progress and achievement, and giving our pupils a moment to feel proud of what they have accomplished. This was the first set of STEP results for Year 6, with plenty more learning, growing and opportunities to shine still to come. 💜💛

A huge thank you to everyone who helped transform the space and make the morning so memorable for our pupils.

Year 6 — you’ve set the bar. Keep aiming high! 🎯🌟

📚✨ National Poetry Day – A Live Lesson with Ian Bland! ✨📚

What a fantastic way to celebrate National Poetry Day! Our children and their parents took part in an inspiring live poetry lesson with poet Ian Bland, exploring words, ideas and imagination together.

The children then put their creativity into action, writing their own poems and creating colourful artwork. It was wonderful to see them so engaged, proud of their work and excited to share their creations! ✏️💭📖

A brilliant celebration of poetry, creativity and the power of words! 💙
