Promoting Independence 👖🧦
Skipping Lambs have been really showing a big interest in toilet training / potties. To support this next step staff planned an activity which gave toddlers the opportunity to practice putting clothes on, role playing with the babies, explore toilet training stories and new language!
Don’t forget to ask your child key person for a toilet training bag and if you would like any support as we are aware this transition can be scary / overwhelming but we are here to create a smooth transition🚽

Room Meeting 📆
Some of Skipping Lambs staff met yesterday for their monthly room meeting. This meeting was focused on schemas, September’s book focus and safeguarding. Tasha planned a schema activity for staff to take part in, before sitting together to discuss the learning intent of Septembers book, the words of wonder and experiences. Staff thought of new songs they would like to introduce and discussed their key children’s interest / next steps together.
This is a great way for the team to connect together; sharing ideas, practice and information! 📝

This goodbye is a big one! 🐑💚
After 20 years we say goodbye today to one of our longest running family members. When we say we are like a big family we really mean this; 20 years of support, drop offs, celebrations, and even some tears together. We have staff who have supported this family throughout their whole journey and what amazing memories we have made together. We are forever grateful for such fantastic parents at Little Lambs and so appreciative for the trust you have in us to care for your little ones.
Thank you for always being so kind and supportive to all staff you have worked with on your journey. We wish this family HUGE good luck in the future and a big thank you for such wonderful gifts ( especially love all the lamb theme! 😂)

Hydration Station 🧊
After seeing the hydration station for parents Skipping Lambs decided they wanted to have their own. We have children’s water available throughout the day but I have to say being able to use a water dispenser makes the water taste so much better 😂 Toddlers independently used the tap to fill their cups, stopped at the right point to avoid any spillages!
What super stars we hope this kept everyone that extra bit hydrated today ☀️

Curious Babies🧐
Laughing Lambs enjoyed investigating the sparkly tray today. Staff wrapped up a range of toys for babies to unwrap independently which helped to support babies strengthening their fine motor skills. When babies unwrapped the toy staff role modelled the words and sang songs that related to the object which babies got very excited about especially the ‘Turtle’ 🐢

Eclipse🌓
Yesterday Alison sat preschool down and taught them all about the eclipse. Alison had two helpers who showed their friends what was happening using objects as the moon and sun to act this out!
We hope everyone had a great experience watching this 🔭

Explorers 🌿
Laughing Lambs went exploring earlier in the week when it was a lot cooler. They went to the small field to practice strengthening their gross motor muscles and their balancing skills by walking across the grass. Babies love being outside and observing their surroundings 🐦⬛🌳

Dinosaurs Stomp! 🦖
Skipping Lambs are showing a real interest in the dinosaurs at the minute. To help support next steps staff have used the dinosaur interest in a range of ways; first toddlers explored a messy gloop tray with the dinosaurs, they used the dinosaurs to make marks, learn new vocabulary, explore new textures and role play together. After some toddlers read a dinosaur book the the dinosaurs, staff learnt new dinosaur names & the dinosaurs went to the ice cream shop! 🍦
What a rawrsome day 🦕🌿

Happy Skipping Lambs 💚
Skipping Lambs had so much fun at the field today. While at the field toddlers played hide and seek, follow the leader, observed the changes in the flowers / trees & played eye spy. Toddlers were very kind giving their musical instruments to babies & they were so confident as they danced in the middle of the circle in turns 🌿
