It’s not all about the early years. Older children can need childcare too. Working in wraparound roles before or after school offers flexibility and a chance to share your passion whether that’s sports, art or nature. There are plenty of opportunities.

I am pleased to be able to introduce myself as your Bolton Start Well Service Development Officer for the Early Years and Childcare Expansion. I am responsible for the sufficiency and creation of early years places and primary school wraparound childcare places which is a funded programme of work for the Department for Education.
I am also your Designated Wraparound Childcare Lead, this role will enable me to:
> support schools and trusts to understand the availability of wraparound childcare in their area
> support schools and trusts to communicate the availability of wraparound childcare to families
> help schools and trusts in their area to offer wraparound childcare
> encourage existing providers to expand their provision
> encourage new providers to enter the local childcare market.
Providers will soon be invited to bid for funding that could be used to contribute to start up/expansion of wraparound childcare and running costs, including staffing and training, including specialist training for staff to support children with additional needs.
We will be releasing information on how to bid for funding via a briefing soon.
If you have any queries or questions please do not hesitate to contact me by email: [email protected]
I look forward to meeting you all soon.
Elaine
