It was with great pleasure that we welcomed the great, great grandson of the original resident of the Brooklyn, Lord Mayor Thomas Walmsley, back to the building.
Danny Walmsley, who now loves in Canada, visited the UK to look at some of his family's history and was delighted to look around Lord's School taking in some of the original features and noting that the premises still has the date of building , 1859, and the original owners initials in the tower.
Danny was pleased that the building still served a good purpose with the provision of education for mixed ability children, including SEND, in a safe, supportive and welcoming atmosphere where the students successfully gain results appropriate to their abilities and are prepared for adult life.
