Reminder: National Emergency Alerts Test – Sunday 7th September

This Sunday, the UK government will carry out a national test of the Emergency Alerts system. Most mobile phones and tablets will receive a test message, along with a loud siren-like sound and vibration lasting about 10 seconds, even if the device is on silent.

✅ Please note:

This is only a test – no action is required.

The system is being tested to ensure it works in real emergencies, such as severe weather or other life-threatening situations.

As the test is on a Sunday, schools will not be affected, but children at weekend activities may still hear the alert if they have a phone or tablet with them.

ℹ️ More details: www.gov.uk/alerts

If this in any way worries your child please reach out to your school for support on Monday

For more information and advice, visit youngminds.org.uk or call the YoungMinds Parents Helpline on 0808 802 5544.

Thank you for your continued support.
