A group of our Year 4 and 5 girls have been enjoying Monday afternoons at Harwood Golf Course learning to chip, putt and drive a golf ball. We're really grateful to the team at the club for offering this opportunity to our children. I'll be looking out for any familiar faces in the Open Championship in a few years time as there's definitely some talent there.

Our Year 5 children have been learning about road safety and have taken part in the Bikeability programme this half-term. They all grew in confidence over the two days and will now hopefully spend more time outside on two wheels.

This half-term our Year 4 children enjoyed stepping back in time to the Tudor Era at Ordsall Hall. They discovered lots about Tudor daily life: cooking, clothing and had the opportunity to make scented pomanders with a range of herbs and spices. Thank you to the adults who led our workshop, we had a fantastic day.

Last week we were lucky to win a competition organised by Bolton School's Library and Museum Service for a author visit by Jen Carney. Our children learned about what inspired Jen to write and the daily life of an author and were challenged to design their own rocket. They were also given a copy of Jen's latest book which she kindly signed for them. She definitely inspired our Year 6 children and it's been great to see them enjoying reading her book.

What a fantastic day we had on Thursday for World Book Day! Children created an amazing variety of decorated spoons, making the judges decisions very tricky. Well done to everyone who entered the competition and took part in the activities throughout the day.
