🖊️📚 CELEBRATING CREATIVITY THROUGH POETRY! ✨🎉

We’re excited to have launched our year-long creative writing celebration with the publication of our very first pupil poetry anthology! 💙📖

Every pupil who submitted a poem has received their very own published copy to take home, share with family and friends, and be proud of! 🥰👏

🍫 A huge congratulations to our award winners Noor, Maryam, Zainab, Emily and Samra, who received some special treats in recognition of their fantastic work! 🌟

🏆 A special shout-out to our overall winner, Samra, who received a £10 Waterstones gift card to choose a brand-new book of her own! 📚🎁

👀 Keep your eyes peeled for Issue 2, launching after half term! We can’t wait to see more of our pupils’ incredible creativity and talent.

👑 And there’s even more to look forward to! By the end of the year, we’ll be crowning our very own Smithills Poet Laureate, who will be commissioned to write a special poem celebrating the 70th anniversary of our school! 🎂💙

🌟 World Mental Health Day 2026 🌟

Today, four of our pupils had the fantastic opportunity to visit Bolton Albert Halls to celebrate World Mental Health Day, an event organised by Bolton Council and Bolton Youth Voice. 💚

The day was packed with engaging activities, an inspirational speech from the amazing Adam Corbally, and plenty of fantastic prizes to be won! 🏆🥇🥳

It was wonderful to see our pupils getting involved, connecting with others and celebrating the importance of positive mental health. 💚
