Today is National Thank a Teacher Day, and this week learners across our main campus and community learning centres have shared hundreds of thank you messages for the teachers and Bolton College team members who have supported them throughout the year.

Some of the lovely messages include:

πŸ’™ 'Your positivity and hard work make a real difference.'
πŸ’™ 'You care about us as well as our education.'
πŸ’™ 'Whenever someone asks me why you're my favourite teacher, my answer is always the same - because you've got a good heart.'

Every learner's journey is shaped by the people who teach, support and encourage them, and today we're celebrating every one of them.

All of the thank you cards will be presented to their recipients at our End-of-Year Celebration, recognising the difference they've made throughout the year.

Our ESOL Adult learners recently took part in an Introduction to First Aid session delivered by Sim from the British Red Cross.

The one-hour workshops helped learners develop practical first aid knowledge and important life skills, supporting them to become more confident and prepared for everyday situations.

The sessions were extremely well received, with many learners expressing an interest in taking part in further first aid and fire safety activities in the future.

A big thank you to Sim and the British Red Cross for delivering these valuable sessions.

Our Engineering learners recently enjoyed a trip to see Concorde at Runway Visitor Park, giving them the opportunity to get up close to one of the most iconic engineering achievements in aviation history.

The visit provided valuable insight into the design, technology and innovation behind supersonic flight, bringing classroom learning to life and helping learners explore the real-world impact of engineering.

From aerospace and manufacturing to mechanical and electrical engineering, experiences like this help learners understand the exciting opportunities available within the industry while developing their knowledge beyond the classroom.

Creativity, sustainability and community came together for our BTEC Extended Marketing Event in support of Emmaus Bolton.

Working to a live brief, learners developed brand activation ideas to raise awareness of Emmaus amongst young people and highlight the charity's commitment to sustainability.

Throughout the project, learners presented their concepts to Tony Stephenson, CEO of Emmaus Bolton, and Sarah Edge, Communications Manager at Emmaus.

The event featured a range of engaging activities, including a runway challenge where learners created Met Gala-inspired outfits from recycled materials, tote bag workshops with a Pre-Entry Adult ESOL group using scrap fabrics, and interactive displays showcasing the work of Emmaus and the stories of its companions.

It was fantastic to see learners applying their creativity, teamwork and marketing skills to support such an important local charity.

A huge thank you to Emmaus Bolton for their support throughout the project.
